U18: U18 WJC's Poprad & Spiska Nova Ves Slovakia April 13-23.2017.

Lack of goalscorers apparent for Sweden. Should've closed the game in the first two periods, but let Russia hang around and got punished in the 3rd. Very close to tie it in the end but no luck.
 
If anyone can find highlight packages of the games and post them here it would be sweet

TV station CT sport should have just gotten the rights and there would be no need for streams. Really dissapointed me they haven't.

Well I asked the IIHF, they said the streaming was prohibited from the Czech Republic yesterday but an agreement was reached and the games should be available from today. That's quite encouraging, let's hope it will be working.

I don't understand the Czech TV policy on this. They love talking about the importance of youth hockey and the need to promote it as much as possible, but they are usually totally indifferent about anything below the U20 age group. I guess they're too busy showing volleyball, track cycling, floorball, air race, equestrianism and dance competitions...

He's always the most noticeable player in international games, nothing new here. Everything he does so well is on the outside however, not going to translate well to NA ice. Also lacks that elite burst of speed that small D must have to make it to the NHL.

He's never gonna be mistaken for a shutdown defenseman, but I don't see why he can't be successful in the NHL if he is sheltered and used in the proper role. If Krug and Barrie can be successful, I'm sure Brännström can as well. He has impressed at every level this year. U20 tournaments, U18 tournaments, SuperElit and from what I hear SHL as well. What more can you ask of the kid? He's literally two weeks away from not even being eligible for this draft too. Really young, so he has plenty of time to get stronger and improve his speed. I don't really see it as a problem though, he is so incredibly mobile and shifty, and that's what's really important for an offensive D like him IMO.
 
Am I drunk or is homeboy working the live ticker drunk? The way I saw it Filyayev should have an assist on the 2nd Belarus goal and Zadina didn't score the 4-1 goal (it should've been assisted by Zadina and Chytil but I didn't see who scored it).
 
To bad that Bendelin have send in the final roster, otherwize Dahlin could have joined the team now. A really bad decension.
 
Yeah, the ticker is full of errors. Nečas should have had a secondary assist on the 7th goal.
 
lol what happened after that penalty shot? .... maybe unsportsmanlike conduct infront of czech bench (shooting arrow to czech bench as a goal celebration) - that was idiotic celebration :-D

I had a feeling Frölunda would win anyway, but now that they didn't, I just got really mad. The tournament will go on for about 1 - 1,5 week from now, and he will just be there at home doing nothing... :shakehead The only thing I've been wanting this spring is to see Frölunda lose, and when they finally do it it's all in vain.
