Canada seems to have widened the gap on the competition even further in Women's Hockey.

They beat Kazakhstan 13-0 and had only TWO shots against, then hammered Russia 12-0.

Why don't they just have Canada and the U.S. play a game for the title at the beginning and spare these other countries the embarassment and let them actualy compete with eachother in the tournament.

Thats not even close. A team like Kazakstan beating Canada would be a much much larger upset than Belarus beating Sweden at the Olympics. The disparity between the womens teams is huge, absolutely massive. There's just really no chance of an upset at this level, unless a team like Canada had all but three of its players ejected from the game two minutes into it.

You forgot Finland.

Yeah, there's a second tier behind the US and Canada. Finland and even Sweden are behind Candad/US, but ahead of everyone else. I think the potential of Sweden or Finland upsetting Canada or the US is more comparable to Belarus upsetting Sweden. It's still not very likely, but if Canada or US takes either of them too lightly an upset could happen, or at least it would be a close game, not 12 or 13-0.

Sometimes things happen. Sweden played Kazakhstan and after two periods SOG were 52-3. The score was 0-0! It didn't last of course but it was a very strange game.

OMG, Eurosport is showing Canada-Sweden right now. I decided to get a look ... and right now I'm like "OH MU GOSH, this is awful!!!!!" NO offense, but the game is so slow. Well I understand the slow skating, but the passes are even slower. Unbelievable!

Well of course I'm biased because I've seen game 2 of the Russian Superleague finals a couple of hours ago, but still ...

typical eurosport showing the ****** events like this and tractor pulling. I wonder what their budget is, like 100 bucks?

Actually I think that their budget is below ZERO.

How do I know?

Well, how can a not Canadian TV channel show the Women's Hockey World Champ AND the Curling World Championships???????????

I'm sure Europsport is getting paid to show this crap. That's the only possible explanation.

If they had a 100 bucks, they'd be at least showing the table hockey world championships, which are way more enjoyable.

It was quite nice that Eurosport showed some hockey. I think, the last time they did it, were the Olympic games in 2002. Not, because it was hockey, just because of the olympics...

Do Scandinavian countries show curling? Scandinavians are as good at curling as Canadians.
