I agree.

The Blues look good.

I also think the Jets should mold themselves more like St. Louis than Nashville.

For what's it worth, I think you are. The Jets have much more talent up front than Nashville has had at any point probably since Forsberg left. The Preds would kill for somebody like Blake Wheeler.

You have some pretty dynamic defenders in Trouba and Bogosian and Byfuglien (when he's back there) and the biggest question mark is in goal, which was the exact same for St. Louis prior to 3 weeks ago.

Maybe I don't remember fully, but I just remember the majority of it Buff and Enstrom passing back and fouth, then switching sides.

Are you talking about the 5-on-3 that turned into a 5-on-4 that we ended up scoring on with Enstrom's slap-pass to Jokinen who sent it back to the point for a beauty Buff one-timer? I thought it went alright... :sarcasm:

You must have missed the first year, that was a constant critique of Ladd lol
I haven't been around long, so must have missed it. What put a stop to the hate? Scoring a lot last year?

You must have missed the first year, that was a constant critique of Ladd lol
Yup. And then there was some article that debunked it; Ladd doesn't really take more late penalties than anyone else. It's was just the perception; those moments that he did really stuck in our minds.

Oh, so someone wrote a reasoned article with evidence to support the claim that Ladd doesn't take more late game penalties than other players, and the internet accepted said article and no longer criticizes him as such.

Sounds like something that would happen.

Does Frolik really have over an hour of powerplay time this season? That seems much higher than I expected, and really doesn't support what I wrote above.

Or am I not understanding this data?

That IC article "debunking" Ladd's penchant for poorly timed penalties was kinda junk, IIRC.

Well that's not much production at all given all the time, but truthfully, if the powerplay is just going to dump the damn puck in I'd rather Frolik in the corners than Setoguchi.

He's not getting a ton of PK time either, which is kind of surprising since he was kind of billed as being great on it. Something like 1:19 (#12 amongst Jets).

Enstrom's production is disappointing this year.

For more fun... points per 60 mins:
Buff 5.98
Wheeler 4.54
Little 3.86
Jokinen 3.71
Ladd 2.86
Kane 2.65 <-- Edit*
Enstrom 2.55
Trouba 2.27
Scheifele 1.95
Setoguchi 1.45
Frolik 0.91
Bogosian 0.67

I really wish Bogo's PP mins could go to Postma or Clitsome...

*forgot Kane (well actually the filter I have auto-filters those without 75% of team's GP and forgot to turn it off)

Not Ellerby? His PPP/60 is 720.

So the 5-3 we didn't score on, went alright?

I'm assuming that most people would consider scoring on the 5 on 4 after the 5 on 3 has expired to be "scoring on the 5 on 3".

I do.

Eh. When you have 40+ seconds with a two man advantage, you should score in enough time to have a chance at another PP goal before the other penalty is over too.

It can't happen every time, but it is a missed opportunity.

I've been saying that about Postma and Bogo like forever. Postma would definitely improve the PP.
