In the heydays of the European financial crisis, a Finnish reporter wrote in the paper that the European politicians were super-annoyed of their Finnish colleagues, because every time they told anything to them confidentially, it was a surefire thing that it would be on the front page of the Finnish papers the next day.

"How would you know about such thing", the reporter was asked.

"Because my foreign reporter colleagues have told me so confidentially", she answered.

I for one appreciate that approach. I prefer the cold truth now instead of a sunny variation later.

Teuvo's quotes translated:

"They've got some Players' Association call related to Olympics going on, some of the guys are listening in. We got some info from it to the group chat, and the message is, so much for that. No chance of a trip to the Olympics. Let's try again in four years," the disappointed Teräväinen said.

"It sure would have been great to get to play there. Been looking forward to this tournament quite a bit. It's a real shame. I guess I have to still be playing hockey in four years," Teräväinen continued.
"After all, I'm technically still pretty young," the 27-year-old forward quipped.

"Lots of questions and few answers. I don't know when we'll be playing next and what we're going to do in general. Today we were supposed to have a game, but now it's an off day. Tomorrow we're supposed to have training, but the team group chat is running pretty hot on the topic right now, so I wonder if we'll get that either," Teräväinen laughed.

"Knowing our coach, I suppose we'll get a training camp of some sort arranged before Christmas," the Helsinki player said with a grin.

"It varies quite a lot how the guys have taken the situation. You've got to have a laugh about it to try and move on. Even though these are serious matters, you don't have to take everything so seriously. What infections we've got, the guys haven't had any bad symptoms."

"Feels like half the league is having Covid right now. It sure doesn't look good. Let's see what they can come up with."

"Today would've been a good day for golfing, and sure enough it's raining. Been going at it on the PlayStation instead," the Finnish forward sighed.

Such a shame we're not getting the olympics with NHL players, would have been extremely exciting with how many representatives the Canes would have had.

USA: Slavin, Trocheck & maybe DeAngelo?
Finland: Aho, TT, & maybe KK + Raanta?
Czech: Necas
Russia: Svechnikov
Switzerland: Nino
Denmark: Andersen

until Aho or someone else takes a knee to knee hit. Olympics are cool cuz you get to see super teams together for free but its just a hold your breath and hope no one gets injured tournament.
