Terry is a nice comparison, but this has to be Drake Batherson.

Batherson is a year younger, hes substantially bigger (3" and 20+lbs) and more physically imposing/aggressive. And his skill and creativity are top tier NHL elite caliber. I see him as more of a play driver on his line whereas Terry feels more like a high end complimentary player that doesnt have nearly the same IQ that Batherson does with the puck on his stick.

Terry and his breakout season last year was a surprise to just about everyone. But for anyone whos followed Batherson and his development, its no surprise that he just had a PPG season.

The season that just past was the test for Batherson - he was the 21yr old AHL MVP that had mixed highs and lows during his NHL callups - and he responded with a PPG season in the NHL where he was the Sens most dangerous player (until getting his season stolen by a scumbag AHLer 5th string goalie that lost his temper),

But point being, the only question was can Drake be the same player that was the MVP in the last two leagues he played in at the NHL level - and the answer was proven to be a solid yes. He figured it out and now its anyones bet on where he peaks over his career as a 1st line winger now.

I think it’s a lot closer then you are making it out to be. Even the AHL season you are using to pump Bathersons tires with he wasn’t on pace to have as many goals as Terry has actually had in the NHL. He needs to stay healthy and prove it over an entire season id say. Not saying Terry should win the poll but you are making it sound like Batherson is way ahead which wouldn’t make sense at this point.

As far as skill and creativity go. You need to start watching Terry if you think he is lacking in that department whatsoever.

Bathersons PPG season was 44 points. Terry scored 37 goals. No way you can be this definitive after last season.

Terry is clutch, and I think he will age better. I also see him as the more versatile player with the better motor.
Batherson had 7 goals in the WJC when Canada won scoring in the gold medal game and lead canada in scoring at the recent win at the WHC. Both have proven to be clutch. But fair enough, I think Batherson has a more dominant skillset. Cant go wrong with either.
