Should we try something new?

Trouba has a dog. What could it fetch? Not necessarily in a trade though. A stick? A ball? Maybe a puck?

When I got to the end of the last thread and didn't see a link to the new one I thought perhaps some news had broke. But alas it is not to be.

BTW - Please cease the breakdown of the Jets vs Rangers game in this thread. NYR has a great team; this isn't the place to argue over the validity of their success to date this season.

24 or less days and counting

Source? At this point this is just pure speculation.

The bold above I have an issue with because IF that were true, why has Chevy continued to drag this one?

The only logically explanation is that he hasn't gotten a good offer. I have my doubts about him trying to be overly greedy as it defies all logic given the complexity of the situation and impact on the Org.

He's drawing out the best offers.....which are yet to come. Only Chevy knows the true situation, after that only Chipman knows......no one else. To a degree Trouba's agent knows some of the offers. If you disagree with my assumption above, then your saying the assistant GM to the cup winning Hawks (09-10) and the billionaire owner who is involved in hockey ops are both incompetent and you know better then them both dispite them having all the facts and hfb posters having zero facts.

11th hour the best offers will be received, Chevy I bet isn't even really considering offers up to now. As one guy on TSN put it, all the pressure is on those other GM's (who have need for a 22 year old top pairing RHD) to put together a good enough offer to land him. No pressure is on Chevy. This will be fun to watch how it ends.

Source? At this point this is just pure speculation.

Word is his dog wants 7.5 dog treats a day for 8 years and if he doesn't get it he is going to run away from home. Rumor has it he doesn't want to stay in Winnipeg due to the lack of parks.

Wonder how many people will heff to be mad about this now?

Have to completely disagree with the notion that there's no pressure on Chevy. His objective is to try and make the playoffs, no? Having lost out on Trouba for so many games may have put a dent, (albeit a small one) to their chances at competing this season. I can't imagine they'd be content with getting nothing for the rest of the season from Trouba (whether it's via trade or himself).

It may essentially be throwing an entire season away to send a message, which would be pretty dumb IMO. But seeing as Jets fans have the utmost confidence in Chevy, I'm sure they wouldn't mind.

Hey mods, since this gong show might be going for a while, can we get some fun thread names going, like they did with the Phoenix relocation threads?

A suggestion:

That's actually a good question. The answer is not as clear as you might think.

Agreed. Management clearly stated (summer) this year was a development year, of course no team selling tickets will ever say no we don't want to make the playoffs.......I'm sure jets would love to. But they basically IMO stated they knew this year was highly unlikely to make the playoffs even with Trouba in our lineup. With all our injuries so far, you could put Price in our net and we might not be a playoff team.

As a STH I don't care about this year, I care about the long term future of this team. Macro thinking vs micro thinking. All about the big picture.

How about RNH and Nurse for Trouba, Staf and either Petan or a 1st in 2018?
Send Burmi to Moose or lose him...Matthias can be traded if still around after the expansion draft.
RNH is 23 and signed for 4 more years AFTER this season... Little's injury shows us how shallow we are at C.
Nurse, Enstrom, Buff, Myers, Morrissey are 5 good D men.
Bolded players protected.
Laine Scheif Ehlers
Connor Little/RNH Wheeler
MP RNH/Little Armia
Tanev Copp/Lowry Dano
Lowry or Copp in pressbox with Roslo and Lemieux fighting for jobs.

Morrissey/Nurse Buff
Enstrom Myers
Morrissey/Nurse Postma

Helle Comrie

Looks like a playoff team to me.
One of Dano Copp Lowry can be protected.

Turris played I think 6 games before being moved.

I think trouba doesn't get moved for a month though.
