That’s about the contract expected, maybe a 3rd year.
I think Moore would have wanted a higher cap hit for an extra year. He will be backing himself to contribute more consistently and as such won’t want to be tied to such a low cap hit. Don’t get me wrong, I’d have loved a 3rd year, but it is what I expected.

nice cheap contract for a player who is earning his ice time :) very happy with the draft and last couple of moves Blake made

Moore was a real surprise in the Muzzin trade and a great addition to the bottom six.. The kid just keeps getting better and better. Well earned contract.

I think you have your Toronto trades mixed up.

This is what I’m going off of. Wasn’t sure about what the picks mapped to.

Kings Acquire Trevor Moore and Picks, Trade Campbell, Clifford to Toronto

The LA Kings have acquired forward Trevor Moore from the Toronto Maple Leafs, along with a pair of third-round draft picks in exchange for forward Kyle Clifford and goaltender Jack Campbell, according to Vice President and General Manager Rob Blake.

The two third-round picks include Columbus' third-round pick (previously acquired by Toronto) in the 2020 NHL Draft and a conditional third-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft.

Doh, and I had my quote responses mixed (fixed now). The one above my post is what I meant, as he had mixed up Trevor Moore as being part of the Muzzin trade.

You are correct with the Trevor Moore trade tree. Here's the full transaction involving the picks:

• Trevor Moore
• 2020 third round pick (#82-Alex Laferriere)
• 2021 conditional round round pick (originally second round if Clifford re-signs with Maple Leafs or if Maple Leafs qualify for 2020 playoffs and Campbell wins 6 regular season games, else third round; later revised to second round if Maple Leafs win 2020 qualifying round series and Campbell wins 2 games or if Clifford re-signs with Maple Leafs, else third round) (#88-Cameron Whynot)

And that 88th pick was the one the Kings used to move up to the draft to select Kirill Kirsanov.

Combined, our past two trades with Toronto now look like this:

To Toronto: Jake Muzzin, Kyle Clifford, Jack Campbell
To Los Angeles: Tobias Bjornfot, Trevor Moore, Carl Grundstrom, Sean Durzi, Alex Laferriere, Kirill Kirsanov (technically used an additional 6th round pick to trade up to grab him)

Classic sleepy Rob!

He's not your prototypical 4th liner. He actually has decent skill. And while being a 4th liner he was tied in 6th with scoring.

Only behind

Kopitar, Doughty, Kempe, Iafallo, and Brown.

However you can also say the team sucked so bad that it gave players like him a chance to shine lol. But stats are stats, tied for 6th only for 1.8 million for a fourth liner. Good deal.

LA Kings sign Trevor Moore to two-year contract extension - LA Kings Insider
“I want to be here – Big Kings fan, I love this organization,” Moore said, during his season-ending interview. “I think that everything is trending in the right direction and I would love to be a part of it.”

Moore's going to be part of the reason why the Kings will be trending in the right direction in the upcoming seasons. For once, the Kings have a productive bottom six forward, which is a luxury they haven't had in ages. In fact, if you try to go back and find a bottom six forward with 30+ points, you'll have to go as far back as 2014, when Dwight King scored 15 goals and 30 points.

Looking at the numbers in seasons since 2014, I don't see anyone who earned bottom six ice time who scored 30+ points. That's... bad.
