Player Discussion Trent Frederic III

I'm starting to come around that you really can't hold this season against anyone. It's all been that putrid. I think Freddy will bounce back and be an asset, he just might end up being one of the casualties of a Bruins retool of them trying to right the ship.

He might be a casualty of UFA status and the market, too. He's a guy, rightly or wrongly, who will command a hefty raise from someone and it's probably more than the Bruins should, or would, pay.

Pretty much my exact feeling. I just also know the Bruins luck and he will end up in Florida or St Louis and become Sam Bennett lite but you can't manage a team to prevent other teams from succeeding that's how we got into this mess in the first place.

Yeah think he's worth more to some other clubs out there in greater need of a physical answer.

When he's gone though you can bet that there will be folks in here pining for a middle six forward who can put up 40pts and drop the gloves and opponents.

Yes but it needs to be the right KIND of middle six forward who gets 40 points and plays physical
That aside, I wish Trent was playing like a 40 point guy that drops people and creates havoc on the forecheck. He's been better of late, but still not doing enough to earn his likely price tage from the Bruins.

My guess he ends up in St Louis as long as Monty is fine with it. It just seems destined at some point in his career

If he had the intensity of Kastelic he would be Sam Bennett. No need for “lite”.

I think we would severely regret moving Frederic. Without Kastelic last night, he really stepped up by getting involved. If he's traded, we are instantly going to be looking for the next middle six power forward.

I like the suggestion that was made where we trade Coyle and keep Freddy at 3C. Makes a lot of sense to me, Coyle is struggling to fit into the lineup this year.

It all comes down to price obviously

Just wish he could win a faceoff once in a while.
You would think (hope) that with more time at center he'll improve in that aspect. It's hard when he isn't getting reps on the dot

Well it's still a buisness so I can't think it's smart to let him get control like Swayman had.No deal in place before deadline I fully support moving him.

He is slow in dot .He might need to find new approach like using strength to tie up stick of opponent and turn his body and kick it back .
