Just a question who in the league you expect 20 goals from and to fight heavyweights?

Not complicated.
Need some context.

Does said 20 goal scorer have no issue escalating fights vs guys they know they can beat up while staying away from guys he knows he will get hit back from?

When also did said 20 goal scorer who was looked at to provide a spark physically and fight at times become a skill player that shoudn't be asked to do such things? When did he go from being regarded as a "Wilson" type to whatever it is you're saying he is? At what point did he become to frail or skilled to fight an Olivier?

I see a guy who lost 5 out of his 7 fights last year against some tough guys maybe lowering his weight class for whatever reason.

Just asking, expecting 20 goals and fight heavies? Again, not complicated. It's not a gotcha or trick question either. Just curious what comparables folks have in their expectations of him.

My expectation of him is to just be consistent. If you’re going to spot pick guys you can hammer nut up and take on some “heavies” once in a blue whether the player scores 5 or 50

Seems to me you are the one making things up.

Gustafsson was the aggressor? Come on.

Stanley as tough as Carlo? 36 career fights for Stanley in 157 games. 17 for Carlo in 584 games. And we know most of those are closer to slap fights than NHL fights.
Tell me where I said Gustafsson was the aggressor, Freddy syndrome at its best.

Stanley is a punching bag, who gives a shit how many fights he has. He should have had his teeth knocked out 5 minutes after hitting Pasta in the face. But I'm sure you all are ok with that.

Stanley is what a 6-6 fighter as you say vs Pasta that is equivalent to Gustafsson toughness, yet you all want to continue to cry over what Freddy did?

Good grief what a soft fan base we've become

Come on give some names... who do you expect 20 goals and fight heavies? I'll get started ... Wilson. Frederic... Who's next?

Because they have been bad. They have been killed a few games. Where has he been? Where are the fights to get the guys fired up? Seems odd he would go after Gustafson when you have been a non entity with the fists all year
Yeah I remember when Viel was called up and that dumbass fight he did really got the team going. Lol.

Because Freddy is a spot picker that willingly goes with middleweights but steers clear of heavies. He's a fraud. A paper tiger. 100% clown.
Middleweights like Jeannot, Trouba, Engellund, Josh Anderson, et al right?

That’s been Frederic’s game. Maybe that’s why he stinks this year? He’s all of a sudden a too good to fight heavies now because he’s scored 17 goals two years in row? He’s a Cam Neely now? He’s 6-3 and a fighter and me suggesting he should go with an Olivier once in a blue if he’s going to beat up a guy who doesn’t fight once in a blue? It’s amazing how fluffed this guy gets for scoring 17 goals lol. Is he game not of the power forward / fighter ilk?

Classic Bruinsdom to applaud a fight vs a guy who never has but treats the suggestion he should fight in his weight class like a crime against the church

Another keyboard warrior who says fights don’t fire up players even tho guys that play the game say they do. Guess Lucic, Thornton and Chara never fired the bench up before. Let’s pick a scrub fight.

No names just more huffing and puffing? Too bad, I was sincerely interested.

He's offered to go plenty this year and with the addition of Zadorov and Kastelic there's fewer opportunities. Think Bostons near the top in the league in fighting majors as it is in the new NHL. Love to see him do more but the flak he gets compared to a guy like Coyle who's just as big, producing less, costs more and carries his kitten mittens up and down the ice is pretty funny/sad.

Thought Frederic's fights this year were warranted and Tkachuk still owes him one too. He's on pace for 5ish fights this year - had 7 last. That's hardly worth getting our undies in a bundle over but here we are.

Soft to me is giving Frederic a free pass despite his shit contribution to his teams success this season. Can't get past their warm and fuzzy feelings towards anything involving body-checking totals or winning hockey fights to take an honest assessment of certain players.

You want hard. I would of benched his ass after that Gustafsson fight. But it would of never got that far as I would of benched him after his pointless penalty at the start of the game that showed he wasn't ready for a game against a team like that.

Part of the appeal of this team has always been a united fan base that generally viewed playing the game “the right way” with the same definition.

It was probably always inevitable given the softening of society in general, but man has that appeal eroded and left us with a proverbial wet spot on full display right in this very forum

Why didn’t Viel’s fight fire the team up. Why didn’t any of the fights last night fire the team up?

Viel is a scrub in a staged fight. Last night was 6-1. Maybe show some heart earlier?

Amazing that every year people pine for a “Dallas game” and we still have people debating what some timely good fighting can do for a bench or team but what do I know

The fact Bruins fans are at the point where it’s ok to beat the shit out of a guy who never fights and then pearl clutch when it’s suggested maybe he should go after a heavy in a similar circumstance really shows which way some in this fan base have gone. Reminds me of mid 00s Canadiens fans and the Burrow Canucks fans. Well done

You keep mentioning the same 3 guys over and over. Go look at his fight card. It's mostly dudes that are under 210.

I’m looking at the last five guys he fought last year. Add Liam O’Brien to that.

This you?

I’m looking at the last five guys he fought last year. Add Liam O’Brien to that.

And their weights?

O'Brien is listed at 213. 7 pounds less than Freddy. Jeannot is 208. Anderson is 218. Andreas Englund is 189. Trouba is 212. Goodrow is 202. Lemiux is 215, Mike Folingo is 195. Lane Pedersen is 192. Literally all the guys you mentioned as "big heavyweights" are dudes that weigh less than Freddy. And most of them by quite a lot.

While you like to make these claims, your assertations are certainly not backed up by the data.

He's a spot picker that typically goes after far smaller dudes. If he were on another team, you'd all universally loathe him for this type of bush league bullshit,
