Because he's 22 and followed the 'process'
He wasn't top 50 pick, so folks here hadn't gifted him a 800 game career.
And NYR LD is an area with few (Lindgren) sure-things for this year.
A year from now, it would maybe be a cluster of him, KAndre and Robertson on cusp at LD.
But, despite all the gushing, in summer, and this morning, by front office, I don't see Miller being acceletated to NHL without AHL time w coaches KK and Murphy. No reason to rush him unless he absolutely excels and surprises.
Does Reunanen have top 4 potential? I'm so glad we're finally getting Finnish players. Seems like we've always had some aversion to them.
I think he has second pair potential. He's a solid two-way guy but IDK if he has the defensive acumen or consistency to play on the top pair.Does Reunanen have top 4 potential? I'm so glad we're finally getting Finnish players. Seems like we've always had some aversion to them.

Talking in an "ideal" sense, of course. Lots of second pair guys as we know end up playing on the top pair.
Hearing JD's voice is like getting a long warm hug. I feel like I'm 16-17 years old again I love that beautiful, beautiful man.
Why is it that we're so high on Reunanen making the team now but I literally never hear anything about him. It's all Lundkvist, Miller, Schneider, and Jones. Is it just him getting lost a shuffle of incredible depth?

Are we talking about Miller? He didn't play in the CHL.CHL is one of the weaker leagues defensively and he hasn't done anything special there so what makes you think he gets a few games?

Yes that’s definitely not the CHL.College, Wisconsin
Uh, yeah I know where he played. The CHL is the Canadian Hockey League. NCAA hockey is not a "weak" defensive league by any means. Honestly have no idea what you're talking about and I'm pretty sure you don't, either.College, Wisconsin

Which development league do you feel is the strongest defensively? My bad.. Wrong label. Reading from CHN but yeah, I'll stick with the weak defense.
You think he's ready to take on the big boys?
I don't.
I have said repeatedly he's closer than many think, but that next season will be his year. With that said, I absolutely think they will give him a look at some point this season--whether it's at the beginning of the year if he plays well in camp or at the end of the season. My bad.. The team gushes about him at every chance and brought him to the RTP camp in the fall for a reason. They think he's close to having enough of a toolbox to play.
