Buffalo is a complete disaster, go all out for Cozens.

Fischer and Schenn (50% retained) would be two others I’d have interest in.

Our lines would be a matchup nightmare for any team.

Knies - Matthews - Domi
Pacioretty - Tavares - Marner
McMann - Cozens - Nylander
Lorentz - Minten - Fischer
Reaves (waived, Simmonds treatment)

McCabe - Tanev
Ekman Larsson - Timmins
Rielly - Schenn
Myers

Woll - Stolarz
Cozens what would you give up considering his cap hit doesn't match his production based on last yr and this season.
You hope that he gets back to his production 3 yrs ago 68 pts.

We would have to trade Kampf Jamkrok Robertson.

Hope he is like other Buffalo players that have moved on.

Known of our top prospects are in this deal

For Buffalo this is close to removing his cap hit

Would anyone here give a 2nd for Taylor Hall@50% retained at the deadline?

Or Connor Murphy@50 retained + Taylor Hall for Jarknrok + 1st + 3rd?
I have wanted Connor Murphy and had hoped he was in the McCabe trade with Chicago. I think he would make for a solid RHD pairing with Rielly and set our D

McCabe-Tanev
Rielly-Murphy
OEL -Timmins

I would feel pretty good with that defence going forward.

I’ve completely lost sight of Hall. No idea what he’s doing or how he’s doing it, but he’s never been a player who has impressed me over the years.

He’s not a name that came to mind and I’d be interested to hear from other posters who are more in the know on whether he would be worth a look.

I would rather hold on to our 1st and not worry about adding Hall.

You would move OEL?

If you’re acquiring him at the deadline, only a third or so of his cap hit counts for this season, it’s not impossible to fit him in.

We would definitely have to pay a premium even though his production hasn’t really matched his cap hit. I have no doubt he would be able to get back to being a 60+ point player playing with someone like Nylander or Marner on his wing.

1st, Cowan + a young roster player such as Dewar, Holmberg or Robertson. I would do it.

Why focus on another winger and expensive defenseman? Murphy at 2.2M would be good but unnecessary, and Hall isn't exactly doing anything for us at his price tag.
Nah Murphy at 2.2 Is very necessary 44s perfect partner or maybe oel …….🤔

Damn that’s a pretty premium

Fair but I think using valuable cap space and low amount of assets into another RHD seems unwise at this time unless they do big things. Murphy is another low event/skill, physical defenseman. If you got both Dickinson and Murphy, I think that works a lot more than going after Hall.

I wonder if the Preds would dump Schenn for almost nothing? He was very good with Rielly and I think Berube would love him. He seemed to want to stay but took the money. He hasn't fit in well with the Preds from reading complaints.

I wouldn’t mind further upgrading the defence if the price is right, but considering our limited assets we need to go after a forward.

We have lowkey been dominated 5v5 lately, and our goaltending has stolen us more wins than we realize. Hope that things get better as Matthews and Domi settle in and McMann gets back, but still need help there badly.

We have far too many forwards that are black holes. I’m beyond apoplectic about Reaves at this point. If they keep playing him, so be it.

We need to go big game hunting. Get a really Center with term. I would be all in on Cozens or an equivalent move. Who is struggling on a team who thought they’d be better?

Domi is killing us big time at his cap hit. I like the guy but I'm confused why he escapes any sort of heavy criticism.

Domi plays better with Stars. I think its time to move him up to the top 6 and spread out the offense. Have nylander on the 3rd line or something

That's probably something said with just about anyone. Put any player with Matthews or Nylander or Marner and they'll probably produce better. I wouldn't mind trying him with Nylander (moved to LW) and JT but Domi has to produce and play better either way.

His last name is a big reason.

If he's legit healthy again, last night was game 1 of about 10 and if he can't figure it out, he would be on the chopping block this off season along with too many other guys lol.

David Kampf or Jani Hakanpaa + COL/EDM 3rd in 2025 for Luke Schenn
I really dont thinkl Luke Schenn is better than Phillippe Myers or a healthy Hakanpaa. Dont see him as much of an upgrade

If we go for a defenseman, it needs to be a top 4 caliber type of defenseman or im just fine keeping Phillpe Myers

Do you think that Myers or Hakanpaa would look beside Rielly, and make for a strong pairing? Schenn did.

I wouldn't call Murphy unnecessary. We need to be mindful of Timmins in the playoffs just several months ago and if he represents the largest exploitable risk on the roster going in. 3C feels like the priority but there has to be a back up plan to Timmins - Hak may not be available, Myers ain't it.

I have faith in Benny, especially if a move reunited him with McCabe, but he could fall down too at the wrong time.

If we're being nit picky our D corps could use a bit more size and reach for playoff hockey.

That's fair but giving up a 1st round pick for another RHD who doesn't really provide any sort of offensive boost seems unnecessary. He's another physical defensive defenseman. He's good but not sure it addresses any needs. I'd be fine picking up a depth D, especially if Hakanpaa isn't healthy.

We don't have a ton of assets and we have a big hole. We need goals too. Fix that and I think it feels like a better overall lineup.
