Senseless to move any of our goaltending g prospects

Stolie’s been good but doesn’t have the track record to rely on him so depth is key

Woll’s injury history is well documented

Hildeby has 1 season with the Marlies and we control his rights plus he’s waiver exempt . Very much so a work in progress

R2 just came over from Russia

Goalies are quite volatile and good depth is so important when you don’t have a sure thing

Ahkyamatov - next Shesterkin and Hildeby next Lundkvist

The future is bright :D

what the interest of moving one of young G?

Leafs need at 3rd C... thats it

A 2nd pick and a B prospect is enough to find it

With an healthy line up

Knies-Matthews-Domi
Pacioretty-Tavares-Marner
Mcmann- Gourde( my#1 target) -Nylander

3 Pretty good line

Lorentz-Kampf-Dewar ( high defensive line)

I don't think leafs really need much more move, just have to make the right one

I don't know who for but that's a lot of contract slots. Not a fan of the players mentioned either

Kakko is who we are talking about. I suggested earlier that Rangers would be stupid to trade him, then someone they’d trade I think Robertson and Jarnkrok for him… which would never get the deal done,

Trading Murray is a win/win/win. We have a couple young studs coming up that can use extra playing time. It would be nice to grab an extra pick, and he would get another chance in the show.

Has Murray been playing ?
A bit but he's been pretty good too when he does.

With 2 young goalies pushing that look good... you could trade him but wait it out.

Maybe they get something half decent back for him.

Maybe ship him with another prospect or guy not working out and get a solid pick or prospect.

There's no rush though.

Why the love for Gourde, he's done, he would get eaten alive by this fan base after a couple weeks

Hes 100% what leafs need... and no the way he's playing sorry basically every leafs fan would love him

He bring grit and pretty high intensity, he's a leader, can play on PK or pp, can play up and down the line up. He can produce and bring everything you want from a player come playoff time.

Leafs don't need someone who will carry a line, they need a good complement for what they have in the line up and Gourde is an amaizing complement.

I wonder if there’s any chance at acquiring Dobson. I’d be willing to include our 1st next year and Cowan.

Knies - Matthews - Nylander
Pacioretty - Tavares - Marner
McMann - Domi - Grebenkin
Lorentz - Kampf - Holmberg

McCabe - Tanev
Rielly - Dobson
Benoit - OEL

and certainly gonna need to add knies too.

If you really expect to get Dobson with cowan and a late 1st pick and thinking they're a chance than Islander accept it. You're probably actually in a dream

I said I would include those two pieces, I’m sure there would be more added but depending on what else is needed would be make or break IMO. If they’re asking for Knies as well, that’s a no go and we move on.

They will certainly asking Knies, you're talking about a #1 D 24 YO 2 way dman and even with Knies + your offer, im not sure the interest to trade Dobson would be enough high...

If you want quality, you need to give it back...Dobson is probably out of reach of Toronto

Leafs need a player who is declining rapidly, bleeding chances against, slowing and small? Alright. I’m thinking maybe you haven’t watched him for a few years.

A shame Robertson has played himself into having almost zero value.. He would have been a perfect trade asset to upgrade up the middle with a draft pick or two if he could have had like 6 or 7 goals and some assists.

Doesn't make sense to trade our goaltending depth unless it's Matt Murray, and he's going to fetch you a mid round pick if that, might as well keep him as insurance. It's maybe the first time in 10+ years Toronto has promising young goaltending depth.

You traded with the right team, but targeted the wrong player. Brock Nelson would be a ideal 2C/3C target this year if Toronto is comfortable going down the rental route. He has the ability to play in both ends of the ice.

If management is going into the playoffs with Domi as a 3C, then they have failed. It's so painfully obvious acquiring a legitimate 3C would help bolster the forward group in multiple ways...

Knies - Matthews - Domi
Patches - Tavares - Marner
McMann - Nelson - Nylander
Lorentz - Kampf - Jankrok(if healthy)/Grebenkin/Reaves or whoever you want on this line.

You just know he'll start putting up goals very soon but not sure he'll be here much longer. Our best bet is finding a swap of players for another struggling young player or an older veteran/pending UFA. I suggested a swap with O'Connor with the Pens as an option but not sure if there's much interest from them. The Kings and Ducks could have a decent amount of interest since he's from California as well.

Matt Murray has almost no value. At most, he'll be a 2026 or 2027 conditional late pick or maybe some sort of throw in. I really don't see how anyone gives up a mid round pick. It would take a pretty good return for the Leafs to include Hildeby or AA in any sort of trade.

1-Gourde would be 5th amount leafs foward for 5v5 pts despite he was playing a shutdown role in a shutdown line in a trash team.

2- When you are in playoff and you don't have any space, speed is not the most important thing. Whats matter is your ability to fight to win battle and bring back as much possible puck in your side. The gfight leafs was losing years after years after year. Gourde like gallagher, even if he small, he's extremely hard to play against. he's like energizer rabbit. Do leafs need that kind of player and would make leafs a better team? 100% yes

3- I would remembered you Plekanec in 2018, he was even more on decline and he's probably leafs best trade ar TDL in Matthews era in term of cost/value

One of the challenges in moving a goalie, is who exactly would get moved, for what value?

For example, take Colorado or Carolina ... teams desperately needing a goalie.

They both need a NOW goalie. So trading for AA or Hildebeast doesn't make any sense for them. They might be good goalies, with a good future, but they aren't read for the NHL. Which leaves Stolarz and Woll... who objectively we can't afford to move, unless somehow we thought one of the AHL guys were ready... which they aren't.

So, there isn't really much in the way of logic, to get value here. I suppose there could be a team looking for goalie prospects... but that isn't a very common move.

Murray... sure... very low return, who cares.

Unless it is a 3-way deal, Ducks(futures)-'Canes(now)-Leafs(futures/now).

Yeah, Nelson would be a great get but I'm not down to mortgage the future for a rental. Leafs paid a ton for ROR who promptly f***ed off to Nashville after.

That's why I'd like to get somebody we wouldn't mind keeping, who also wouldn't mind staying if things go well for the rest of the season
