Mate, not even actual Tampa fans are making sense of it.

There’s no rationalizing.

Tampa lost on value alone for sure. If they win the cup again I don't th8nk they'll care nor there fans

They are. Read there boards, a few fans are fine with the deal despite the overpay knowing he fits there system

They don't care about the 2023 picks and just think the 2nd and 1st suxk

Tampa is going to be a PITA to play against .. If the Leafs roll their 3 centres as they should, ROR and Acciari help mitigate that physicality. ZAR also brings physicality as well and hustle.

Kampf can hold his own .. That's 4 of your bottom 6 capable of playing that game.
Still think Toronto is in need of a 3rd line winger and a d-man better then Holl, our 3rd line has no identity, just really vanilla.

Nothing makes me feel any way about it I'm not a Tampa fan. If it were I wouldn't care about this as I'm a team trying to be a borderline dynasty

I hope this deal blows up for them c9me playoffs. I'm just pointing out the rationale which makes sense from their POV
LOL for real.

At the end of the day, Jeannot is not shit like Cor is suggesting. One of the best team’s felt they should blow out everything for him.

At the same time, that price is f***ed.

Both can be true. Not sure why he is so defensive over a non leaf trade where every single person is saying they paid WAAAAY too much but also acknowledge this makes them a much bigger pain in the ass for us.

I think they're married to both Kerfoot and Holl and knew getting McCann would help get them passed the scary stage of losing them.

Kerfoot has been proposed in trades for 3 years now and I don't believe he's ever been close to be traded.

I could be wrong. We'll know for sure in a week.
Dont remind me they protected Holl over McCann lol

Anyone else having issues with hfboards on mobile?

My post responses are getting eaten up to whoever I am responding to. My response will come out as the poster I'm replying to. So it looks as if they responded or it's just a continuation of their original post

Have to be super quick when typing a response for it not to happen

Been happening for a good month now and don't know what's causing it

He’s not a good player. It’s pretty simple.

He throws some hits.

Personally, I’m not defensive, I’m f***ing ecstatic lmao

The thing about that trade. It's not just an overpay. It's a severe overpay by like 3 draft picks. Maybe 4.
Like a 3rd, 4th and 5th?

Who cares? Only the Leafs and Lightning find good players in those rounds.

Seriously though, any draft pick traded from the 3rd round onwards look worse in writing than in actual life.

The Tampa Bay Lightning, the model franchise and one of the best talent evaluators, just paid 5 picks for this guy. They have hit a home run on every deadline deal they have made.

He will not be bad. From a pure value, we are laughing… unfortunately draft picks don’t matter in round 1 of the playoffs.

If you chose those picks, then fine, a 1st, 2nd and Foote is still an overpay for Jeannot.

I think there's a bit of a "I want what I can't have" vibe with this trade but come on.

Again, however you want to justify it is fine. He’s nothing more than an energy fourth line player. He throws some hits on the forecheck.

He’s in no way a game changer. He’s not even above replacement level and frankly, I don’t even think he’s Tampa’s 12th best forward on the roster

If Dubas beat this offer, and it came out Tampa had offered this, I’m guessing you’d be roasting Dubas over the coals.

Why does this guy keep spamming graphs and percentages into everything? Is he insinuating that Nashville and Tampa are stylistically similar. Or that whichever player is traded to a new team is.going to play like that?

Does anything he posts take into account the completely different sport of playoff hockey?

I'm just trying to figure out what his points are why he does this for every player.

Thank you.

For sure. I have said from the beginning that this was a massive overpay and I thought the price for him would be a 2nd or a 3rd+.

The Leafs also don’t get the benefit of the doubt in the playoffs.

Tampa does though. They have had great adds every year which have had big impacts on their playoff runs. They also undoubtedly got tougher to play and added a guy who screams playoff hockey.

I don’t care is Tampa has no picks for the next 5 years. I want the Leafs to win today. And today is just got tougher.

Even though the TBL just pulled off one of the most lopsided trades in years, it doesn't excuse the fact that now we are going to be playing against Jeannot in the first round. With the add, they are going to make that forecheck a living hell for us.

It's gonna be a tough but exciting series. Got to think we are going to be adding again soon.

Ok, Tampa has to be finished, unless they're trading Vasi.
NJ, maybe another, but that was a big trade.
Boston doesn't have much left to work with.
Rangers are presumed to be in on Patty K.
Carolina...what do they do?

Going for ROR and Acciari early may have been Kyle's smartest move. There are still a lot of teams hoping to move on from players with a drop in prospective buyers. Prices to go lower as we near the deadline? I mean, you can't expect any team to go as far as TB did with Jeannot. Unless something 'golden' shows up before the TDL, I'm guessing this is going to be a game of poker, with more sellers than buyers.

We'll have to wait and see what the playoffs bring for sure. I do remember everyone laughing at them over the Hagel deal. And then unfortunately, everyone stopped laughing.

It definitely didn’t, and it’s great news that this is Tampa’s only move.

The ol’ subtraction by addition
