Further affirms that the Leafs can't go into the playoffs with both Engvall and Kerfoot in the bottom 6

Hope another move is coming.
Despite me laughing at that trade... I agree.

Leafs could still use a different mix and one of kerfoot or engvall should be traded.

So is Kerfoot 3 1sts now? What in the actual f*** was that trade.

I think Leafs will do more but not for that type of price. Insane.

Buyers' market! :sarcasm:

Although it's fine enough to state that the quality of assets to NSH is TBD, that's still undeniably a boatload of quantity. Seems good for Tampa's present hopes though. :(

Easier said that done. They still need to be good players right? There isn't much that fits and would be good without trading an arm and a leg.

Our division is gross.

With that said…tampa overpaid holy shit.

Kudos to Dubas for making the moves early and making sly moves.
I do think we are ready too and solid. So are Boston Jersey and tampa. They hard n heavy. We should take laughton or schenn still. All the others is making rock moves like Sean connery 1996.

Love this trade for by the Lightning. Improves them just a little bit now while unloading a ton of draft capital.

Lightning’s prospect pool is among the leagues worst, & here’s their next 3 years of draft picks:

You can only go for so many times.

They are literally just kicking the can down the road. They can recoup those picks if/when they will start sucking in a few years.

They are also one of the best teams at finding undrafted/unsigned minor leaguers to turn them into workable NHLers.

They'll probably run out of luck at some point but Brisebois really doesn't believe in draft picks at their stage. And to be honest, their drafting has been really average to bad anyway.

Comtois + Klingberg (@50%)

Wonder what that would cost. Comtois to add some grit to our bottom 6. Klingberg because I think he’ll be cheaper than some of the other names available and might look nice beside Sandin, right hand shot and he looks to be turning it around now.

Like the pickup for Tampa, like Jeannot but good God, 5 picks and a former 1st round pick him? I do not think so. Poile still has it, dunno if he should be retiring.

In saying all this, it seems like if Toronto is in the market for D, there seems to be to be a surplus of d-man still on the market and not many teams interested in trading for them. Hopefully Toronto and Dubas can strike up a deal for the bare minimum.

Just catching up now. That's absurd how much Jeannot just went for. Hitz and a heater babyyyyyy. Great job cashing in on him by Nashville, and we all know he'll shoot 50% against us in the first round and we'll never hear people shut up about it.

As for Meier, I think it's pretty underwhelming by SJ. Shakir is so overrated and always has been, no Holtz, and then a bunch of meh. Two firsts is a nice grab, but like... there's nothing close to a Meier piece in the deal.

I like Tanner Jeannot a lot, and that price is disgusting. I was surprised with what they paid for Hagel last year, but they've outdone themselves here. At least he should be a long term asset for them.

Not only that but the 2024 first is conditional on the Devils making the ECF, otherwise it's a second round pick.

To toronto: Adam Henrique@75% retained + Max Comtois

To Anaheim: 2024 1st (top 5 protected), 2025 2nd round pick, Tyler Voit, McMann, Alex Kerfoot

To team 3: 2025 4th round pick
