Great player for Tampa... Too much to pay, but still. Everybody said the same thing for Hagel, Coleman, Goodrow. BriseBois knows his shit.

Killorn, Perry, Jeannot, Paul, Maroon, Bellemare, Bogosian...

Tampa is gonna be painful to play against to say the least.

That's a vomit inducing package for a dude who has 62 pts in 152 NHL games and is 25 years old. Yeah size and intangibles and whatever, but Tampa only has a 6th and 7th round pick this year now, and no first in 2025 or a second rounder next year. Horrible.

Does TB needs Jeannot? Honest question. Bc I don’t think they do.
No doubt Jeannot made them better but it really doesn’t push them over the top.

I am not going to pretend to watch Preds, bc I don’t but from some of the comments here, it seems like Jeannot is Lindros 2.0. Is he really that good?

Was that the alternative?

Again they're not bad pieces, it's a nice collection of good assets ... and this trade would look brilliant if they could hit on 2-3 them.. but the prospects may not pan out either. Those 1sts could bust too and won't be making the NHL for a few years.

Ifyou're rebuilding you need core, elite pieces to win... Moving your best asset and not getting that calibre of prospect back is a wasted opportunity IMO.

Imagine SJ winning the lotto and getting Bedard with Nemec or Hughes in your pipeline. Those are two key building blocks.

It's an underwhelming return for me.
I dont think you can expect a Nemec or a Hughes without control and the $10M QO doesnt give that. With Hughes at $8M and Bratt to resign I think that will affect what the Devils would be prepared to offer. To me he may as well have been a UFA and I am not surpised they couldnt do any better.

He’s a good player who can and will kick anybodys ass. Will drop the mitts, crazy on the forecheck, isn’t an elite scorer but had good offensive output last season. So has a small track record of scoring but he’s a physical beast.

The great thing is, we seemingly have at least one move left, if not two.

This is Tampa’s only addition, and it’s underwhelming and one of the worst overpayments I’ve ever seen.

I thought Florida’s Ben Chiarot trade was awful. This makes that look like an underpayment

Love this trade for by the Lightning. Improves them just a little bit now while unloading a ton of draft capital.

Lightning’s prospect pool is among the leagues worst, & here’s their next 3 years of draft picks:

You can only go for so many times.

I feel the Bolts got caught up in name value here.

If you wanted to add a piece or two to go for the 3rd cup and dynasty then this offer is much better and fairer for them:

To tampa: Adam Henrique@75% retained + Max Comtois

To Ducks: 2025 1st -top 10 protected + 2024 2nd + 2025 4th + 2025 5th + Adam Foote + Nemestenkov

To team 3: 2025 3rd for 25% retention

They'd get a 45-50 point winger/center who has 2 playoff runs and get comtois who is big and physical and young.

So you gotta think we're all in for a McCabe/Lafferty combo right?

Like we only seem to trade with 4 teams and love getting a couple of pieces at once.

Think they ask for Knies? Or a future 1st?

Or could we finally complete the Holl, Kerfoot, Robertson/Niemela and a 2nd trade we've been trying for a couple of years?
