Imo Demko has less little to no trade value. Van will play him next year (his UFA season) and hope he can stay healthy. Then, if he can prove he can stay healthy, they might consider trading him. But considering their owner, it’s more likely (even if he’s healthy and back to Vézina level) that owner allows a trade.
His value is at an all time low, so I think he stays a Canuck at least until he proves he can stay healthy.
Different, but the concerning injury is the one that allegedly can't be repaired through surgery and he will need to "live" with.

Demko is good when healthy, so that gives me concern.
Like, I would think it's Demko for a lesser goalie, maybe something with Demko depending on the cap of the returning goalie.
Or a team with a backup spot, or like a 1B spot available and take the risk and send a player who is an NHLer, but he's overpaid type return.

Vancouver doesn't have much choice; they need him next season. Lankinen is NOT a #1 and can't handle the load of a #1. the knee jerk reaction to sign him to such a high contract is baffling
I want to preface this by saying I think he does return to being an elite top 5 goalie in this league. But for how long before hes injured again?

The majority of teams would have zero interest, as he can't be trusted and is paid 5m in cap. A team like San Jose would take a flyer on him to pair with Askarov for possibly a 5th rounder and try and repair his value for a trade.
2nd round pick ? If we are lucky. Absolute stone cold killer when he's healthy, but his injury luck has tanked his value.

Love Demko, one of my favourite hockey players. Top five goalie in NHL if he was not injured. He’ll easily fletch a first round pick if they trade him in off-season.
Don't see it. He also wants $7 or $8 million per which would be a mistake. He's only good for 25-30 games a season now
