He's actually 4th in icetime for forwards at 5v5 but I don't even know why that's a relevant stat. He played 1 min less than Svechnikov, does that mean the Canes consider them to be equally valuable?

He's definitely not a good player and the Canes would obviously upgrade on their "2C" who was getting less than 13 minutes of ice time just last year. Is Dvorak that player? No of course not, but to say that they wouldn't trade their "2C" is incredibly disingenuous because he's not even close to being good enough for a 2C on a contender.
They wouldn't trade him for Dvorak. Any team would upgrade on a player if they could of course.

Hey, have at it.

"The return would have to be significant." I love the way this guy thinks.

A major caveat: "he injured Petey".

Would love to entertain offers from Vancouver, but as soon as you start exchanging bodies like we'd take Soucy back just for sake of replacing Matheson and feeding the tank, then you realize the Canucks have nothing much to give. Their prospect pool is shallow, so they'd have to get creative somehow.

Trading Matheson at a time when we are looking to build up to 4 top-3 d-men and 4 first line forwards is only logical if we get a core player back at a minimum. Draft picks lower than top-5 overall can't be the centerpiece.
