Necas is an interesting thought. RFA I believe and not sure if the Canes are willing to extend. He had 70 pts last year. Curious if he was playing Aho during that time?
I don't think we are going to end up with the 7th OA pick. I'm expecting us to end 4-6 in the standings, and the lottery to boost us a bit. I'm predicting 1-4 OA pick for us in 2024.Lets say Zegras cost the 7th overall in the next draft. One for one. Who make it?
I would do it…
I can't see Columbus trading Johnson, but that would be who I would target. Pinto is another player I'd target.Godin mentioned Kent Johnson out of Columbus.
Basu mentioned Kappo Kaako out of New York.
Basu also mentioned another player but I can't remember for the life of me.
Thinks they'll likely target someone more established in their mid to late 20s this time around vs. another Dach/Newhook play.
agreed... I still say there is a name that KH will get that we all will go WHAT???Expect the unexpected.
I say the same. mid 20's is KH target.. wants a young fast teamGodin mentioned Kent Johnson out of Columbus.

We already have a 1st in 2025 or 2026 (Calgary's) and will probably get another by trading Savard whenever we trade him. We may get another one by trading Matheson before he becomes UFA if Hutson is here.On the other hand, the odds of landing a player with Pettersson’s offensive acumen in the next 4 years are slim to none.
if he can be had in a trade, they ought to aggressively pursue.
What about this guy?
Lawson Crouse 6'4, 26 years old, drafted 11th OA in 2015. Was pegged as a power forward that needed consistency and now he's starting to pick up his ppg more now. a bit of a late bloomer. Makes $4.5M on Arizona who could use our draft picks to help their rebuild
He'd make the best target i think too. What would be the cost i wonderNecas is an interesting thought. RFA I believe and not sure if the Canes are willing to extend. He had 70 pts last year. Curious if he was playing Aho during that time?
He will asks for a big raise and they might not want to give him since they already have lots a big contracts on the team. They already have 50 M$ tied in for 6 players next season and they still at the bottom of the standings. Why would Buffal want to trade Casey Mittelstad?
very interesting but NJ just lost 2 forwards did they not to the JR sandal? so not sure they move a forward.Necas is an interesting thought. RFA I believe and not sure if the Canes are willing to extend. He had 70 pts last year. Curious if he was playing Aho during that time?
No. Anaheim is not in a position to ask that much for him. He will be trade for a package of lesser pieces.Lets say Zegras cost the 7th overall in the next draft. One for one. Who make it?

These rumors were on hold until tipster Frank Seravalli recently confirmed them, mentioning that summer contract negotiations had gone seriously sour.No. Anaheim is not in a position to ask that much for him. He will be trade for a package of lesser pieces.
Savard would be perfect for them. And i've seen some Dallas's fans bringing up his name as a solid addition.I'm wondering, is Dallas rumored to be in on anyone this year at the TDL ?
I'm looking at their lineup and man, it's deep top to bottom. It has depth at center, wings, scoring, playmaking and size everyone.
What are they lacking exactly ? They've never rebuilt. They've knocked it out of the park with their drafting, but also their trades and FAs. The West is going to be a bloodbath this year. I kind of feel bad for McDavid and the Oilers.
Savard would be teh target for them.I don't see him being a great fit for them. He won't overtake Heiskanen/Harley on the PP and he shouldn't be on the PK. It would be a waste.
sorry I meant Math a target for other contenders. maybe the b'sSavard would be teh target for them.
Is New Jersey still struggling in net? They must be feeling all kinds of pressure to get in the playoffs.
What about Jane Allan + retention + either Calgary or Winnipeg’s first round pick ( whichever is the lower standing one) for Nico Hirschier?
ya not sure either, they are young guys for these teams.Kent Johnson and Mittlestadt's names keep popping up, but I really can't see those teams trading those players.
St.Louis might be a good team to target because outside Thomas and Kyrou, the rest of the key core players are older. They're barely a playoff team and may have to start a rebuilt.
HuGu will start adding this summer i can guarantee it and for me it would start with offer sheet to Pettersson.I agree that the Monahan trade had to happen.
With that said, I don't think this off-season/next season where the Habs can afford to have another repeat of the last 2-3 years. Pretty sure you end up with one of these guys going 'What are we doing this again for?' at that point.
I know fans want to think of the NHL as a simulation but it's not. These guys were in the Cup finals three years ago. They're out there grinding daily but getting their teeth kicked in most of the time. They're competitors who are used to winning. That's how they got to the NHL. You can't do this forever.
My guess is the Habs make some moves that will have some fans crying but it's the realistic approach.
all depends what a team says they would pay.. so nuts or not anything can happen. There is no chance in hell the team trades Matheson. Better chance he gets re-signed than traded. You guys are nuts.
