If history is our guide they'll get something else for basically nothing.
Which might be Vrana if the Wings are eager to move on.

At this point we should just be sellers, east is stacked.
Yeah, happy to sit this one outPrices are absolutely insane right now.
On the plus side everyone will be out of ammunition by Friday![]()
Insert Taylor Hall. It's the power of the NTC.Yeesh, imagine trading Patrick Kane and not even getting a guaranteed first back in the deal.
Or selling. The big thing for me is the bubble teams we are fighting against are all basically standing pat too.
The thing is... We're one of the few (maybe only) teams who could pull that off without it being detrimental in the long term. It would hurt - but probably provide an overall benefit.Barrie is a legit 2nd pair D who is a very good PP QB. Nashville can flip him for a 1st easily.
The prospect is Edmontons latest 1st round pick who hasn't devalued at all.
It's two firsts a 4th and whatever they get for Barrie. For miminal retention.
Rumored price for Ekholm was 2 1sts. They got more.
I might do that in the off-season. I don't think I'd do that now.I'd retain 50% on Olofsson and move him to the Wild for Greenway. Seems like a decent deal, especially if Granato can more out of Greenway.
It's not like the Sabres haven't been scoring, and Olofsson hasn't really contributed in a while, so it might be a good deal.
Prices are absolutely insane right now.
stop thatAt this point we should just be sellers, east is stacked.
Can’t live without Olofsson getting caved in and providing nothing at 5 on 5? If that’s been the key to their success…their pathetic D move suddenly makes perfect senseI might do that in the off-season. I don't think I'd do that now.
For other teams…sure.A lot of teams will be looking to unload players this off-season, it's gonna be wild.
The only thing we could sell is cap space. That implies having something to sell of value and also that they don't have a need for the players they have to help get to the playoffs. They have very few expiring contracts and the ones they have are important per role to the team.
I'm begging you to cheer up.Can’t live without Olofsson getting caved in and providing nothing at 5 on 5? If that’s been the key to their success…their pathetic D move suddenly makes perfect sense

I agree with your price. However Nashville just got a better defenseman plus a top 2 prospect from Edmonton AND an unprotected 1st.I don't think it will happen - but using @Der Jaeger 's example - I'd be fine giving up a lottery protected R1, our fourth or fifth best prospect who may struggle to make the team anyway & Jokiharju for the right defensive upgrade
Too soon... Too soonApparently 3rd round picks can get you more than Stillman
