Georgiev, Korpisalo, Dreidger etc. all have Mrazek-esque numbers. He simply can't play in the spotlight. Why bring a goalie struggling in a smaller market into a pressure cooker.

Harri Sateri is likely better than they are based on his track record.
Agreed. People are already whining about potentially not getting a goalie, and then throw out those names and I'm just like lol..

Hard to see us doing any more traditional pick/prospect for rental adding. The depth chart is literally overflowing at all positions. Question marks in goal, but still so many bodies.

Healthy roster we're 8 men deep on D that should be playing every night, and have a F reserve of Simmonds, Clifford, Anderson, Steeves with no real holes.

Yep. It really is.

Maybe there's a "out of the blue" hockey trade with Kerfoot or Holl but yeah... This is it.

Round out the Marlies and call it a day.

Varlamov was my choice before Tampa, Boston and Florida got better. Acquiring him pretty much closes the door on Soup returning. I would go cheap and see if I can get Forsberg out of Ottawa. Behind this upgraded D, he might be able to do the job.

Why not just go out and snag Varly who would probably love playing behind Islanders level D combined with high-end offensive firepower?

;)

(I know I'm probably dreaming and a Forsberg type guy is the type on the way)

Hoping for a forward that can play with Tavares and Nylander and mitigate some of the injury risk with Kase.

I doubt they do anything though - maybe a few minor league deals with Menell and Duszak.

Given he has another year, it would also solve the goaltending issue for next year. Would be happy to see it but not holding my breath. Forsberg has been really good in Ottawa. With our luck at some point, midnight will strike and he will turn into a pumpkin.

I can’t lie. The goaltending questions are all fair, but can’t help but feel a little disrespected by the panel lol. We are every bit as good as a team like St Louis, or Pittsburgh or Calgary without much question

I'm ok with being an underdog. Maybe this is the kicking in the pants the Leafs players need. We all know they watch these shows, or at least a portion of the players do, and they make it a point to prove people wrong.

I don't really care what they have to say despite disagreeing a lot that Pittsburgh or St-Louis of all teams is more of a cup contender but hey... They are trying to save face. Leafs haven't earned jack squat and they deserve the disrespect until they show otherwise.

I’m outta the loop, here. Why are Duszak and Menell constantly mentioned as being moved?

Kind of funny how many teams can take on money. I get why but teams like Florida who are already loaded... Tampa with Kucherov before...its just a piss off lol.

Then we may not with Muzzin. I get they're trying to be honest but every team does it.

It's where you really think about the cap and hope they come up with a soft cap etc. Helping small market teams is great and all and it can still be done but punishing some of the big market teams really blows.

The way the Flames are playing, I am not sure they have any holes. Sutter appears to have built a team that can beat you any way you want to play and they have a true #1 G that can win games alone. Be good to find out how we match up against them in an all-Canadian final.

I cant even guess what wed give up for gibson or how we'd make the cap work, but that would be massive for our chances. Do it.

Duszak has asked for a trade, Menell has thought to be a near NHL level player at the start of the year (like an 8-9 on the depth chart), but has been a major disappointment - so change of scenery is probably best for the team and him.

They do love to prove people wrong.

"The Leafs are a powerhouse"

"We will see about that! Hold my beer." :sarcasm:
