With Campbell a week away and Mrazek on waivers, Harri still a week due to visa wait time, Who do we have as a backup to Kallgren? (can't believe I just wrote that) Surely there must be a Goalie acquisition in the mix today.

It will be Mrazek. He's on waivers, but unless he's claimed. He'll be the backup

If he is claimed, Leafs have 1 hour in trade deadline to grab a secondary goalie. I take it that plan is already in place

There are plenty of goalies who are decent backup and can be had for 3rd round pick. Only if he gets claimed

Mrazek gets claimed and Hutchinson is the back up. Hutchinson just won’t go away and always seems to find his way onto the roster

Already talk coming out that Mrazek might be claimed eh.

I've been saying since yesterday I have a feeling it happens.
I'd be shocked if another team claimed him. Maybe based on his past performances, won't be for this season. I just don't see Toronto getting that lucky.

Campbell is back by Thursday which is the official 2 week mark. It's possible he's healthy enough to back-up Wednesday, which is 1 whole day before the full 2 week mark. He's practicing right now.

Mrazek can still back-up though. If he miraculously gets picked up on waivers, then the Leafs just need a game or two stop gap while Campbell rehabs, aka Michael Hutchinson or Carter Hutton.

This is all dependent on A LOT of things that can happen over the next few hours.

Desperate team that can't get a goalie deal done. Outside of MAF, there is really only guys in Mrazek's tier. Mrazek isn't working here that much is clear, and we all want him gone. But I team from the outside that strikes out might gamble on his career resume and hope it's just a change of scenery needed. Likely won't happen imo, but entirely possible some team decides to roll the dice on him for nothing more than money

What is interesting is that if Mrazek gets claimed, the Leafs would have 6 goalies under contract but can only use 2 of them unless ARI is fine with us using Hutton in the NHL.

Woll is hurt. No idea about Scott's health. Campbell is hurt. Petruzzelli is only on an AHL deal (I guess we could sign him to an ELC). Sateri is still not here.

Kallgren and Hutch are the only ones available, although we are talking about a minor issue. Kallgren would play all of the games anyways and Hutch would just be backup filler.

I would not be surprised if an Arizona/Buffalo claims Mrazek. Should be interesting what plans Dubas has lined up with Campbell still being out.

If people are speculating Mrazek might be claimed, shouldn't that mean it wouldn't cost too much to move him?

Like if they're already mulling it, surely throwing a 3rd round pick or a B prospect to Arizona or Buffalo gets it done?

There is some misconception that it will take a 2nd+ to dump Mrazek when that was never the case.

If a team wanted him, it almost certainly wasn't going to cost us anything (even taking back money). Claiming him on waivers also makes sense if you are a team on his NTC too.

Its only when a leaf player get praised does the analyst have to say "I'm not trying to be Toronto biased".

Any other reporter can mention a player from thier beat as a hart candidate without a problem.
