A deal around Sandin for Hayton would be interesting. I’d also try to get Fischer as well.

I really don't want to trade Sandin but if he's making an issue out of not getting a regular spot when he hasn't entirely earned it, and wants to be paid more than Lily who has earned it and is playing better than Sandin currently, then you I'm open to moving him.

Seems like a bit of immaturity .. Pretty clear to see Gio and Muzzin are aging and Muzzin has been injury prone so some opportunities should present themselves this season. It's on him to earn it, not to expect to be handed a roster spot.

Would not be surprised if Fischer gets non-tendered.

He has been sub-replacement level for 3 straight years and while he has a cheap tender, he hasn't even been worth that much (similar to Adam Gaudette).

Some other team will probably sign him for near league minimum and try to rehab him.

He's got a decent shot...maybe just hates being on Arizona? I'd give him a training camp invite or a salary that you can bury.

He's been like that for a long time.

Don't get me wrong, he is still an excellent young player and should be valued as such, but his attitude is annoying AF if all of this is true. If we get a guy like Hayton in return (although Sandin has looked better than him thus far), I think the Leafs should strongly consider it. Has to be a similarly-aged prospect with similar upside at a position we need though; so Hayton fits perfectly.

Exactly this.

Can't even blame him since the team has handed so many things despite not earning it. The team deserves blame here as well

In addition to this, it seems like the top pairing is almost set with Rielly - Brodie and the bottom pairing is set with Gio and Liljegren.

If they're signing Sandin to any contract, he's going to have to play 2nd pairing and he's not really a shutdown guy and I can't see a full season where he can play big minutes.

There might have to be a scenario where Sandin and Muzzin aren't in the equation.

If I'm targeting a young center in a sandin trade I'm looking at Turcotte, Vilardi, Roy, Raty, or Hayton. A 1 for 1 swap for any of those young centers and I'm fine with it. The young C id love the most is Pinto from the sens but they need a RD or a top line winger and we have neither to spare even with Pinto coming in as a package.

I was all about Turcotte but apparently sustained a big concussion last year?

Vilardi is slow AF, pass.

Roy...Nicolas Roy on Vegas?

Turcotte is another good option, hasn’t quite figured it out yet similar to Sandin but both with his ceilings.

Any of those two scenarios would be great
I've been playing with rosters in CapFriendly, and ended up with MAF and Georgiev. $4 mil and $2 mil. I've also moved Muzzin, Mrazek, Sandin, Kerfoot and Holl, signed Lyubushkin for $1.5 mil. I've got a 17 man roster, and $9.4 mil in cap space... so allocated among 4 forwards. I'm just not sure how to proceed.

Damn I didn’t know he actually had two concussions this past season, second one being in the playoffs in the AHL.

I’ve gotta think at 37 years old getting the most money possible isn’t a priority for Fleury. But you never know. I’m willing to bet what drives him now is winning another cup and passing Roy for career wins before he retires

He wants to win...how many spots are open with a true contender?

I mean maybe Edmonton has a spot open but do you wanna live in a crappy town like Edmonton?

I agree. Not just the cup, but he’s only 31 career wins behind Patrick Roy for 2nd all time. I would bet that chase means something to him

I wonder if there could be some trade scenarios with Vegas that would make sense. I think there could be an opportunity to trade Muzzin there and get Marchessault and McNabb as part of a deal that you could send there. You could add Engvall and Anderson as part of the package to get things done.
