he's one greedy dude...he wants way more likely.Mid $4m? Can't see him signing for that.
Thank you I got a ton of podcasts to catch up on and you just saved me some time!Leaf Report podcast was just released. Just a lot of speculation. Summary:
-There's no way the Leafs get Murray without 50% retention, so expect that to be first thing about the Murray acquisition. Siegel thinks the Leafs will take it a step further to get a 3rd team to retain more. The assets coming to the Leafs or going to the Sens are pretty unknown at this time; could be picks to the Leafs and Holl going to the Sens. Not much known there.
-You'll need someone to pair with Murray if he's acquired. IT'll be tandem thing but it depends what the trade looks like. Reimer makes sense. Varlamov maybe fits. Kuempers price could go down if the musical chairs limit his choices, Toronto could still get involved for him.
-Kubalik could fit and replace Mikheyev. Fits on the 2nd/3rd line and give them goal scoring. Only probably fits if they can get him under 3M. But seems unlikely since there are lot of teams with a lot of money to spend. More likely the cheaper forwards will come from bigger question marks like the Leafs did with Kampf and Bunting. Miles Wood could fit the Bunting level signing. Strome doesn't seem to really fit the kind of player they need or want.
-Top 9 forward and a 4th line center is very likely on the list of needs. Helm could be an option for the 4th line.
-Lot's of talks between Kase and the Leafs. He likely will be unqualified, test market and circle back the Leafs if he doesn't get more.
-Sandin is not happy where things are at without a clear role and spot. Not really about the contract moreso about opportunity. Injuries have really hurt Sandins role/opportunities, just like Mikheyev. Leafs still like the player but want a similar contract to the Liljegren extension. It'll be interesting where this goes.
I am so sorry you are having to read these boards like many of us...sad and hilarious, right?I generally just read hf boards have since 2013 don't post much but the idea of trading for Matt Murray and watching jack go the oilers and possibly brown too makes me so f*****g sad
alright this person is reading this boards....FTR i do know some of them do reads these boards lmaoLeaf Report podcast was just released. Just a lot of speculation. Summary:

I mean time is an ally...who knows we might be able to get a deal or something that might be even better than we imagine. It's going to be torture refreshing twitter all day tomorrow as well. This may go all the way until UFA begins
Happy to hear they're interested in Kubalik and Wood. Makes sense they'd acquire another goalie with Murray too.
Helm as a #4C would be solid as well.
Perfect for a Hague swap. The more this delays I feel like the more it seems like Sandin is dealt
Perfect for a Hague swap.
I like the profiles of Liljegren/Niemela better and wouldn't want Sandin paired with either in the top 4 so even moving him for a cost controlled, young top 9F with potential would be nice.
Makes a lot of sense medium/long-term for a Muzzin replacement. If Sandin is ever traded, it'll be for an immediate upgrade in the lineup, not sideways. LHD for a LHD doesn't make sense.

Im definitely think it'll be a package bundle or something.Agreed, although I don't think Dubas would rush a deal at this point in time.
Sandin for Barrett Hayton might work.....can expand the deal to get them involved with the retention on Murray too.Agreed, although I don't think Dubas would rush a deal at this point in time.
I think that RD equivalent is Liljegren by the end of TJ's deal.Or a RHD equivalent as a Brodie replacement.
Seems like getting a top 4 LHD is relatively easier.
Also a young centre equivalent would be good too.

Hayton won't become a number 1C but I think he has the talent to be a good 2C, definitely a good 3C. Can win draws, plays a bit heavier, has skill. I own him in a keeper league so have been following him since drafted. Don't like how Arizona has handled his development either, he really should have went back to the OHL his D+2. They've constantly yo-yo'd him too moving between various leagues, very little structure.I haven't looked at Haytons stats closely or seen much of him. Soo player as well. I'd be very intrigued by this, but I do worry Hayton isn't nearly as good as his draft pedigree suggests. If you remove the 5th overall draft he was selected at, I'm not sure he'd be considered someone the Leafs would care about.
Coyotes need a lot of things, but a young promising LD to pair with Soderstrom could be really good if/when they finally trade Chychrun. Hayton is from a different management era as well, so they are not likely attached to the player either.
With that coach, they'll probably squeeze out 9-8.Thankfully my beloved Steelers will be having a season for the ages this upcoming season to ease my pain...... FML <facepalm>
His pre-Oiler contract was for $7m and he's coming off a productive playoff. I'd be looking for more than $4.4m if I were him.he's one greedy dude...he wants way more likely.
