Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. The admin team will continue to work on existing issues, templates and upgrade all necessary available addons to minimize impact of this new version. Click Here for Updates

I’d be down for Zub, but I think that’s simply not happening. The team and fans seem to love him. And they are talking about wanting to add RD. This moves them backwards

Agents and GMs are smart enough to keep things private and talk in general terms. At least most of them are.

I agree but Dorions track record has included a lot of things that you wouldn't think a GM would do. And it almost always is about cash.
Maybe the don't like what's been discussed about an extension? Who knows? It's the Senators.
Zero chance Ottawa gives up Zub.
Honestly I can see the deal being Murray 50 percent retained plus a 2nd and 4th.. I don't see Dubas really seeing Murray at 3 something being a bad deal

If they want to unload Murray they need to take steps backwards elsewhere.

I could see picks being acquired. Simple but they are useful assets to have. Those picks might come in useful to upgrade something else or during the season.

I generally just read hf boards have since 2013 don't post much but the idea of trading for Matt Murray and watching jack go the oilers and possibly brown too makes me so f*****g sad

Starting to prefer that than most of the prospects and young players Ottawa has to offer TBH.

They save real money. 1.1 mill in real salary. Buying him out saves them over 700k in real dollars.
I guess it is that bad in Chicago right now... Although Borgstrom really is not that great. Terrible at draws, nothing to offer offensively, and only mediocre in his own end. He is not really worth 1.1 mill, especially if he is sitting in the AHL the entire time.

Edmonton is in a lose-lose situation. Kane signs for a big deal, he could have the same headaches in the past. Edmonton does not sign him because they don't offer him enough, McDavid becomes even more disgruntled which could leave to him walking out there door.
so we had to give up the 13th straight up for offloading marleau for 1 yr. Say we only get 25% retention, we need more than the value of a 13th overall. If murray turns out good for us thats by happenstance. No value should go to a guy who has this contract and an injury history that compares with lupul. JMO.
Dubas is going to announce in his next presser that the Toronto Maple Leafs are moving to the Soo, and will now be named the Soo GreyHounds.

Except we haven't at all. We have talent from all over the place.
I know it’s bias and overall an unfair statement but it feels like anytime he feels out of his element he looks for the Soo.

How much of an upgrade is Murray at 3.x compared to Mrazek at a near identical cap hit that the leafs just paid to move?
Seems more likely it just buys Dubas time because it willl take a few months to a year for fans to realize Murray is also bad.
Also running out of picks and prospects to fix these mistakes..
You'd think any other GM would be on the hotseat but some people seem to think Dubas is doing a great job.

Keumper to Washington is interesting because the Caps don't have a lot of cap space.
If he goes that that could open the door to Samsonov being available. A trade around him and Holl might make sense since Washington only has 5 defensemen under contract and Holl provides solid value in a bottom pairing role where he'd play.

That's true .. still think Samsonov might be available though. Kuemper is brought in as their #1G, I can see Samsonov asking for a trade.
