Can you elaborate on Zub? Not really familiar with his game. Also isn't Ottawa wanting to add RH defenseman, and not trade them away?

Curious, if we some how attain Murray at 50% discounted, through a third team or not, I'm assuming that will be the majority of the sweetner? Maybe a mid pick or two after that?

Kinda hoping we eat more and get something more worthwhile for our troubles.

Zub is a tremendous defensive player who faced top competition and had great results for the Sens

He’s the exact type of player we’d love to add to Brodie and Liljegren on the RHD.

This kinda' where I'm at as well. Even with Murray at 3.125 we don't have enough money for another decent goalie in the off-season. Nedeljkovic, Talbot, Allen, Bernier, Varlamov, Jarry, Reimer etc. are all on the last year of their deals. Might be better to just get Murray at 4.6875 with a sweetener and trade for a hot hand mid-season if Kallgren or Woll don't step up.

I would trade Kerfoot elsewhere for picks.

Otherwise we tank his value by sending it for Murray and his negative asset value.

Can almost guarantee that Ottawa isn't on Kerfoot's list of acceptable trade destinations.

a) because Ottawa is always on players' NTC lists
b) because he's not moving to a situation where he'd end up with 3rd, or maybe even 4th line, minutes in a contract year. Ottawa has no room for him at W or C.

We'd run Myrray + Woll at G but would get batherson and his crazy good deal.

They won't trade Murray at 100% obviously and batherson is too good to be dumped alongside a cap dump but it's a deal which gives us a complete top 6 for next year

No way you carry a 6.25m cap hit on such a risky goalie. The trick here is to the sweetener and space to add another goalie.

Agreed, I think some are pie in the skying it......but that trade implies that pending UFA Brown carries far more value than Nylander straight up.

At 50% retained the value drops for the sweetener we back in return
