surprised people want to let engval go. He’s the exact type of player teams want in their bottom 6. I’m all about physical hockey and I don’t have any issues with Engval.

Imo kampf and engvall are locks for the bottom 6 on opening day. Besides them we need to inject some physicality.

People are weird. Engvall was great in his role last year and will be pretty cheap to retain, there's no reason to get rid of him.

Yea, he's awful. Whenever he's on Overdrive as a guest, I worry about him getting added in if one of the three leave at some point.

I bet Corrado is being groomed as the overdrive replacement when the time comes

I think according to the rumours hes looking out so he can cash in in the off-season...brown that is.

I am assuming it'd be surrounding Formenton or a player with sandpaper to their game.

Exactly this. I'm not as down on the idea of Murray as some others. At 28, he can still bounce back. Campbell at 30, we still don't truly know who he is as a starter yet either. Both Campbell and Murray are a roll of the dice....so why not roll them on the cheaper contract (assuming retained) & shorter term.

IMO its going to come down to how much will Murray's cap hit be, and who will be his back up. If the Leafs end up with a Murray and say Talbot 1a/1b scenario, thats significantly better than Campbell at 5x5 and Woll/Kalgren. Having Murray on the cheap as a 1 B solution could work out very well. Pretty sure Dubas understands the risks, and Murray at say 2 million, is fair value depending on who he is paired with

Kind of exciting with all the smoke starting up. I'm a little anxious about Murray and what not, and I hope Brown doesn't go to Edmonton, but at least the off-season is cranking up.

There’s a lot of talk around Ottawa about Formenton (and Batherson) being under the cloud of the Hockey Canada investigation. Not suggesting in any way that he is guilty of anything, I assume due dilegence would be done before acquiring him. His speed makes him a very useful player. They are very high on Zub around these parts trading him to Toronto would seem unlikely and would be triggering to the fan base I think. dorion is riding pretty high on the DeBrincat trade as far as fan approval, another bad trade with the Leafs would take some of the shine off that.

I think he's more or less JVR in a way, not much of a motor or energetic, and can disappear a lot. He's got a booming shot and he's got skill though.

Comrie only has 28 NHL games to his name. Even this year, where he had a 'really good' year and raised his stock, he played 19 games lol. No way he gets anything close to 4M IMO.

He could push the DeSmith extension. 2 x 1.8M. Probably between 1M and 1.5M though.

There are a number of current NHLers who played on that 2018 team. The eight guilty players deserve to be punished so that it never happens again, but hockey Canada chose to try to keep it hush hush and buy their way out of it.
