We can't even survive waiver wars, can you imagine if we offer sheeted someoneWere pretty vulnerable for offer sheets on Lilj, Sandin. May not be smart to start down that path.
And historically team who dont have to trade their #1 elite goalie dont trade him...
Theres no reason for Winnipeg to trade, helly, they are not in a rebuild unstead he asking a trade or get sometbing they cant reject...
I didn't take there post to mean any specific trade proposal wasn't happening, just that Nylander wouldn't be traded period.
I wouldn't say it's probable he is being traded but I also wouldn't say the chance is 'close to zero'.

You are obsessed with Brendan Lemieux. I feel like you have been for 5 years.

Brossoit is good as gone. Martinez would make the most sense as the 2nd player out.
He's a prime offer sheet candidate. If he gets a 4M offer sheet he's probably gone.We could try to take advantage and make a deal for Brossoit + rights for Roy, send back some project-type prospects like Abramov, SDA, etc. for them to fill out their farm and us to shed some contracts. Agree w other posters Nic Roy would be NICE as 3c
He's actually been an above average player in 2/3 of his seasons. I get why people would think he's bad but he's an ideal fourth line player. He was 80/402 among in defensive impacts this year among forwards to play 500 minutes. He also hits more than anyone on the Leafs who should be playing (Simmonds/Clifford hit more than him).He is such a bad player too. Exactly the kind of guy we don't need and should not want in our lineup.
I’d stay away from any offer sheets, it’ll come back and bite us eventually. Nicolas Roy would be a nice addition for the 3C though.
Bergeron is 18 points away from 1000 I can see why he did a one year deal.Interesting … guess they’re going to take another crack at a playoff run with a new coach.
I’m sure if we really wanted to, we would be able to facilitate a trade with Vegas for Roy.I don't know why so many GM's think like this. The Leafs have had 6 or 7 goalies in the last 3 years claimed off waivers. That's more than triple other teams in the league. Sateri, McElhinney, Pickard, Dell are among the ones I can think of.
I would definitely handcuff as many GM's as possible and not care about the ramifications. So you lose 1 trading partner for a bit. Which would you rather have, a good 3rd line centre for x years or 1 trading partner that might be upset you did that.
The Leafs don't have the draft pick to offer sheet him (2023 2nd) they traded it for Gio. I think he'd be a good target for any up and coming teams though. Ottawa, LAK, Columbus come to mind without looking deeper into it.I’d stay away from any offer sheets, it’ll come back and bite us eventually. Nicolas Roy would be a nice addition for the 3C though.
I’m sure if we really wanted to, we would be able to facilitate a trade with Vegas for Roy.
Or Vegas can match the offer sheet and trade him for a lot more than a 3rd round pick. It's possible, but are you going to get him for less than a 3rd round pick?
The offer sheet is a 2nd round pick if it is over 2.1M which it most likely will be.It's possible, but are you going to get him for less than a 3rd round pick?
I think you can't trade a player for 1 year after signing them to that offer sheetOr Vegas can match the offer sheet and trade him for a lot more than a 3rd round pick.
