MT is 1 year from UFA with a $9M QO. Who holds the cards?

Yup if he wants to go he will be gone after 4 years instead of 5. Not the same case like Point signing for 3 years but open to staying. Something tells me MT is more open to leaving and hence why he signed that deal.

That's the issue with a lot of these bridge deals. If the player wants to stay, not an issue. But if he's a hard headed guy who wants to squeeze every penny from the team, then they're left will very little leverage in the end.

Imagine if we signed Marner to the same deal. He'd be asking for $13M or something with the seasons he just had.

And what am I not presenting as a fact? That Carolina is cheap? Dude they let players go who even if they are good, they can't resign or don't want to. Or that pesce is value by their fans? I read every team's board. Some of you are just blind to how other boards value their or that some teams are cheap like Carolina
Your commenting on a message board about another message board filled with fans. Time to reel you back in to reality. Those fans are just that fans, I'm talking about a deal their management would find acceptable. Every fan base is bias to some degree but it doesn't matter because their opinions don't matter to management at the end of the day. Remember reality is your friend.

Carolina management is the worst in terms of player's they trade or won't trade. They are like the islanders , maybe worse. Dw is their gm. It was reported before pesce is one of those players they won't trade

Teams are fluid after every season and the canes want more offense in their top 6. You ruling anything out over somthing management said even a year ago is ridiculous. Just stop stating your opinion as if its a fact.

You’re crazy if you don’t think Carolina would entertain acquiring Nylander in a deal that involves Pesce because they want to keep Pesce lol

I dont agree at all. Pesce is solid but he's not Nearly as Important as a ppg player.

Thats pretty for regular season but dont make you a better team in playoff... yes he still ppg in layoff but are you evwr watching how he scored those points?

Last 3 year
-7 of his 9 assist are free point where he did absolutly nothing on the play
- 1 was a missed pass who hit a skate and goes in
-3 of 9 goal he scored when leafs trailent by 3 in the last 8 minutes
-1 leafs trailing by 4
-2 was just to send the puck in an empty net.

The reality is nylander praticly didn't had any kind of impact when leafs really need
Yes yes between a top 2 D who will help you a lot to dicrease number of goal you allowing or a foward who look better on a scoresheet than on the ice... for me the choice still pretty easy

Thats your opinion and your entitled to it. I disagree however.

Carolina was one of the teams that I thought would really want Nylander, but I don’t see an agreeable return. Pesce is great, but not nearly enough.

Just look how mcdonaugh changed tampa D. I dont think people realize kind of impact he had... When his own coach was telling he would had any problem to see mcdonaugh won conne smythe because he did a tremendous job shutting down best opponenrs offensive weapon.

Pesce is the same type of player and samecquality of player

Vegas moves out Dadonov; signs another contract which is going to age just as poorly.

It will be interesting to see this contract. They currently have ~ $5.2 mil in cap space, assuming Weber on LTIR of course. That's with 18 contracts.

& you guys are blind to how Carolina management act. They don't like expensive players, and will absolutely not resign Nylander in two years. No, I try to not be blind as some on here

Again making an educated guess doesn't translate to fact. You seem to have an issue reconciling the two.

Carolina does seem like the perfect landing spot for Nylander.

I will never ever understand when posters point to the fans of other teams for what their respective team will or won’t go for.

Absolutely ridiculous basis to any argument and where I always stop reading.
