Just so everyone is clear, a player has to actually have a career ending injury to be sent to 'Robidas Island'.

He said that if he was healthy enough to play, he would have challenged the decision. Reality was that he was not healthy enough to play.

The notion that a GM is or isn't 'cut-throat' enough to 'Robidas Island' a player is not based in reality.

It wouldn't shock me to see Mrazek sent to Robidas Island permanently, where his Cap hit will become irrelevant. His groin issues have just become too much for him, to ever become a useful NHL goalie again. Surely he'd agree to that, over a buyout..a

The response was a GM would have to be ruthless to send Mrazek to Robidas island and then it went somewhat side ways.

GMs do strange stuff when up against a wall. Some even try to trade players to teams on a player's no trade list purposely by accident.

I think the Leafs best bet is finding a mid 20s goaltender from Europe that has done very well in recent years like Kallgren to fill the ranks. Someone mentioned Hellberg the other day... It would be an interesting signing.

I think Woll was on a solid trajectory but unfortunately, he can't stay healthy.

Not a surprise. It was pretty much a given from the start of the year.

Ben Meyers was always the main guy to get. The rest seem like consolation prizes.

Mrazek is an easy buyout in the summer.

Would be nice to lose the cap hit all together, but a trade with some retention may be in the cards too.

I don't mind them giving up assets to get rid of his full 3.8m, as long as they offset that loss with another trade.

I don't think he's close to a buy out candidate, stats are one thing but the talent level is off the charts with him and you're getting him at the right age.

Someone will have an interest if we don't.

I think if we win a round, Campbell is likely getting extended.

If not, I would absolutely want to see what New Jersey wants for him.

College UFA crowd thinning out. Holding out slight hopes Meyers, but one report had two non/leaf teams in the lead.

I personally see very little chance that Muzz gets moved; not this FO’s MO. I’d be perfectly happy to bring back Lyub and Gio, and run the same 8 D. I’d be happy to bet a dollar that Lyub gets a 3-year offer like the Holl one, and the one offered to Hakanpaa.

Yeah, not to be Debbie Downer, but Blackwood is not coming cheap. He's done quite well on a bad team with the exception of this season. If Campbell is not the guy, I would look into acquiring this guy even if the cost is high. It's not often that a young goalie, with a lot of promise, is available.

Sounds to me like the Leafs and Devils could be good trading partners there. I assume they'll want him shipped to the other conference though.

Blackwood hasn't been great last couple years but he's played behind awful Devils teams over the years.

Agreed. Mrazek for Blackwood isn't going to do it, other teams out there will offer more. Devils should ask for Robertson or Niemela.
