I'd look into a Muzzin for Varlamov swap. Islanders are looking for a steady partner for dobson and we get a starting goaltender for next year and if we buyout Mrazek we free up 2.4 million to keep Campbell if he bounces back.

I don't think Muzzin would accept that. It should just be a Mrazek + for Varlamov swap.

Lol @ people proposing trading Nylander for Konecny.

It's literally the most nonsensical target. Konecny would get absolutely torn apart in this market, and it does absolutely nothing to improve our team. Nylander has all of the strengths of Konency, but more-so, and Konecny has all of the perceived weaknesses of Nylander, but more-so.

Konecny is more like a Kerfoot than a Nylander - only with less speed, less effective forechecking, worse defense, and worse playoff production.

The grass is greener syndrome is real.

Indeed.

This fanbase has a terrible habit of focusing on very short-term events, and make statements that are contrary to long-term goals and success. We lose a game, and a whole bunch of posters come out of the woodworks, and talk about how the sky is falling. Muzzin has a bad stretch, seemingly injury related, and he's being traded. Last year, it was Marner who had to be traded, how exactly does that look now? Now, Nylander draws the ire of fans, and he's on the next ride out of town. Every team, every player, has ups and downs during the season, that is just a simple reality.

We just man handled the best team in the East... easily.

People need to calm down, and enjoy the ride.

Easily?

Fair enough. Not the impression I had of the
game.

Panthers seemed to fade down the stretch but full marks to the Leafs who did not. They were missing Ekblad and Hornqvist while we were missing Muzzin, Kase and Soup. The game in Florida where the Cats are a much better team should be another beauty.

Yeah I thought they looked like they started to tire. Maybe they had been on the road for a while, not sure.

They were on a back to back, two games, in two nights, just as we were... but before that they only had one game in seven days.
That surprising. Really looked to me like their pace slowed in the 3rd.

My opinion, is that we shut them down, and limited dangerous opportunities for them. We didn't give up odd man rushes. We dictated play, and took them off their game. With the additions of Lyubushkin and Giordano, we've really changed the identity of the D. We get average goaltending, limit odd man rushes, and mistakes, and this is a very good team. Of course, those are big "ifs".

Yeah they did play a pretty sound game no doubt. Goalie still makes me nervous. He still loses the net far too often.

Yep. Their defense is absolute trash without ekblad. And even with ekblad in play, their third best dman is chiarot...... pretty bad.

The offense is strong but they can't cheat against the leafs like they can against most opponents because the leafs have the offense to burn them. If the leafs get any semblance of goaltending like they did tonight, and they play with even 90% hustle/intensity lol we take that series in 6 or 7. (i think anyway.)

Imho all pretty much all teams have fans that act like that when things aren’t going to way we hope. Leafs have a lot more fans then most other NHL teams so that throws off the perception I think.

I don’t think I’m a fan that rates game to game but another playoff early exit and I’ll start to worry about Matthews leaving.

A lot of posters on this board want to give the Leafs a lot of credit, despite the team not having any real success.

There is a segment of fans on this board that will basically shit on the team unless they win a cup.

My stance at this point is I have seen the group have nice regular seasons, I just want to see some playoff success. Give me a series win, just one and I will happily pump the team's tires.
