Holy shit what an insane asking price

Maybe circles around to just Fleury later, but I would not include 1st round picks or prospects, there would have to be 50% retention on Fleury, and they need to take back Mrazek.

I think the Leafs have a hard line on goaltending. They aren't giving up premium assets for one. They will probably squeeze Chicago to the last hour and say take it or leave it.

Sorry but dubas doesn't have what it takes to just say we want to go for it this year and be willing to give up stuff. The real contenders decide to get better no matter the cost

Someone who goes on and on about being unbiased and realistic is usually the exact opposite
Not referring to the poster in question, but I've generally found this to be true as well. Typically the only difference between a realist and an extremist is that the extremist is self aware.

Winnipeg is not really that far out of it, and they don't really have a lot to sell anyways.

I could see a deal like Copp for DeBrusk and a pick. DeBrusk is someone who can still help them be somewhat competitive this year but also has that control and upside for a re-tool. Copp is someone who fits well for the Bruins.

Other than that, no idea what kind of market will be there for Stastny after his vaccine comments, and he has been a fixture in the WPG lineup anyways. Seems like he will stay put.

Dallas is in limbo. Probably too many holes to fill to be a really competitive team, but then they also aren't moving Klingberg?

Nashville needs to figure out F. Forsberg first, but I can see them adding. Maybe even a larger piece like a Boeser/Garland (and tack on Schenn for some defensive depth). Maybe get a better backup like Forsberg and some better depth for cheap. Nashville could make some noise with that lineup.
I had to look up what you’re talking about, yikes. That’s quite the corner he talked himself into there.

The talking heads have suggested that Fleury doesn't want to come to Toronto.

& 1st round picks?! plural?! No wonder they declined.

Would've been an atrocious deal for the Leafs

That’s stupid. Basically Mrazek for Fleury, so Knies and a 1st for Hagel lol

Thank f***.

Knies... I'll go out already here and say he'll be more impactful at the NHL level then Hagel will ever be. I could eat my own words later ... but no way that deal should be done. Good on Dubas if true... and multiple firsts. Lol.

Going for it sure but not like that.

I know I'll hear oh but you need to give to get... absolutely... but that's more like f***ing bending right over.

Hagel and Fleury would have provided a big boost to our present hopes. Parting with Knies and two 1sts might have also done its fair share of damage to any significant hope for the future.

By all accounts its a good pickup for Boston. Thing is I constantly hear he's on the decline and does everything well... but nothing is amazing.

I guess it's all about the price.

So far they've been ridiculous.

Boston has always been such a structured team defensively. I have a feeling he’ll thrive.
