Holy crap, really?

27 games with the Preds and they waive him? Yikes.

That Ellis trade is looking bad if that's the case. I guess Glass is having a solid season in the AHL (he is 5 years after his draft date) but if one of your key pieces is waiver fodder that earlier.. Wow.

Myers might be an interesting project but his cap hit isn't desirable and the Leafs are really in a position to give him sheltered minutes.

Yeah - cap hit is way too big. 6'5 RHD. I haven't watched him rececntly but i remember him being pretty tough in his junior years. At half that cap hit I'd be interested but at 2.25 mill that's a bit rich. Someone like Ottawa/Montreal/Arizona should be all over him. Signed into next year too.

There is a reason I thought we could get him for Ritchie.

Never buy the hype on these supposed "future dominant d corps". It always means each one is getting at least a bit overhyped.

As I was reading your post I was going to say that the same thing happened with the Ducks but you had it in your post.

Wild that from that list, Provorov and Sanheim are the only ones that lived the the hype (Ghost too in some capacity) and Philly apparently wants to get rid of Provorov now.

Slightly surprised to see Myers on waivers too. He is costly though for a bottom pairing d-man (particularly so for any team that's tight to the cap).
 
Is Provorov that good? He had a ton of hype in his early years.. I get similar vibes as Lindholm. Not as good as his reputation might be but still quite solid and on a better defensive team, he could excel.

Even Provorov is not the dominant #1 projected.

Sanheim has become what looks like a solid 2nd pair guy (I think) but even there the hype was higher than that.

Apparently he is a nut on social media. Losing his mind about the flyers fans turning on them and his gf is involved. Kinda like that basketball situation.


He wouldn’t do well in this market I don’t think.

I'd say Braun is probably the most realistic. The other two would cost quite a bit. Mayfield is probably the best fit.

At this point I think we'll probably see a soft-ish deal for Giordano.

Nobody enjoys those losses. They're terrible. They're embarrassing and incredibly frustrating to watch.

Overreacting and being dramatic about those losses is what makes this place unbearable. Each loss is not the end of the world. A lot of people on here only watch the Leafs. Great teams around the league go through the same bad stretches.

As long as we aren’t giving up a first for Gio I would be ok with such a deal.

Gio and Brodie had chemistry. Could be a blessing on second pair. I know some might not like idea. But flipping Reilly for playoff run to right side may give us best shot.

Sandin- Holl/Lubyshkin/Lilly/Dermott

Although I can see one of Lilly or Dermott included in another deal for reinforcements in the forward group.

But that top 4 d core isn’t all that bad.

Honestly maybe this is just me though. I dont even enjoy wins if they aren't done right... like its nice yea but its so much more satisfying when the defense and all engines is working right.

Like you can win thats nice but use that as a step to the right process of building core and key habits.
 
Boston rumoured to be in on Chychrun. A first, mid round pick Lysall and Ahcan. Kings allegedly in too. Hoping he goes to the Kings.

Edited as I posted and missed Lysall the first time.

If that offer is true, Kyle should be on that or Ducks have to decrease their ask.
