I am surprised Minnesota was able to get their asking price.

That is a ridiculously high price for a guy like McBain. Lofty expectations but an opportunity to meet them in Arizona with no real pressure.

Probably why he wanted to go there. Easiest path to become a NHLer. Unfortunately the team isn't good so there's not much supporting cast so he'll have a lot to figure out on his own.

Maybe he doesn’t want to leave university so this lets him pretend he’s still there while he plays inside a half empty 5,000 seat college rink.
