Trade and Free Agency Thread - 2021/22 Part XII - C'mon Trades!

Blueline full of big bodies. Rielly would be the smallest guy at 6'1". Allows Muzzin to not have to jump right back in to huge minutes either coming off back to back head injuries. I know some people will be wanting Sandin or Liljegren in the place of Holl, but I doubt the coaching staff does that tbh

The Leafs need to move out some contracts asap if they are going to get involved in the NCAA FA market and sign their own ELC's - at 49/50 rn

A Mrázek move could could get do that, but I'm not sure you clear a spot in a Duszak or Menell trade because teams might not even do a 7th there. They'd likely want to exchange for a different signed player.

I also do not hate just moving Holl now (probably for a 2nd) and adding a new #8 at a similar cost to Hagg to FLA. He's quite possibly out of the Playoff picture now:

Would LOVE to move Holl for a 2nd or 3rd + 5th and recover some assets. Lilly can replace him in any lineup. Would also love to see us grab one more forward.

They can always recoup assets in the offseason for a player like him that'll still be under contract. Subtracting now potentially moves the team one injury closer to having to call on lesser depth.

If I wasn’t a playoff team that couldn’t wait for him to find his game id consider kicking tires.
He has a decade track record of being a 910 goalie who has been to the ECF and won rounds in the post season. 16 games or whatever it was here doesn’t completely erase that. Not to mention he didn’t get 3 x 3.8 from the leafs in a vacuum, there were other suitors. Maybe he clears and is traded to a team that was interested for some AHL fodder that has real money owed.
No ones expecting a haul.

Are we expecting anything tomorrow or has Dubas set them up now for a long run?
 
As it stands the blue line is now:

Rielly-Brodie
Gio-Liljegren
Sandin-Boosh
Muzzin-Holl

Muzzin probably doesn’t come back for the playoffs. Hill might be a trade candidate but it’s otherwise solid
