Pass on both for me.
Robertson has a lot of skill no doubt about it. I feel like Keefe is just going to ruin this kids development however which is why I wouldn’t be against moving him for someone who can step in and contribute right away. Ideally Hagel becomes the Bunting of the second line with Tavares.

I’m curious to know what we could get for Nylander. I know, he’s a supremely skilled player and produced in the playoffs last year, but I’m really turned off by his lack of compete level. Wonder if a player in the mold of one of the Tkachuk brothers could be had?

Doubt that kind of move happens at the trade deadline. That’s more so a deal that goes down in the off-season. I can see Philly being a nice trading partner, they have some good pieces in guys like Provorov and Konecny.

I'd be hesitant to even do it one-for-one. Hagel came out of nowhere and was able to produce with good players. Not every guy can do that. But we are a team with a lot of guys who have the potential to do that who are NHL ready (Joey Anderson being the closest stylistically, but Steeves is also very similar) and we have shown that we don't need to pay a huge price to find and develop these kinds of guys.

That makes it an easy no. We don't have a lot of guys with Robertson's upside in our system. We do have a lot of guys with Hagel's upside, and we don't even know if Hagel can repeat his performance. I mean the guy has a 22% shooting percentage this year... Matthews is the best shooter in the league and he averages maybe in the mid-high teens. Do we really want to overpay a guy who is due for a major regression in that area even if we put him with good players?

Not gonna lie guys but I dont think, despite what’s been said, that Muzzin is coming back before the end of the season.

It doesn’t add up to me. I think the Leafs know he won’t be back during the regular season, but are protecting their leverage in trades.

For a team that is constantly juggling paper transactions up and down trying to amass as much cap space as physically possible for the deadline, they let Clifford sit on the active roster for two weeks as an extra before finally playing him last night, chewing up valuable cap space for no reason.

That simply doesn’t sound like this management group.

They know something they have not opted to share yet imo

We don't accure cap space when Muzzin is on LTIR, so it doesn't matter if we have Clifford sitting up here or not.

100%. No chance Muzzin returns before the playoffs. They’ll keep him as close to game shape as possible with Muzzin practicing with the team but they’ll definitely try and use his cap space at the trade deadline.

Yeah, definitely not a deadline deal. Provorov is interesting, but tbh, not onboard with Konecny.

They are even talking about putting him on the Marlies.

Makes sense. Give him a 3 game conditioning stint to finish off the year to get him in game action and more prepared for the playoffs.

Is 3 games the maximum amount he’s allowed to have or was it less?

Missed this earlier, but Edmonton put Tyler Benson on waivers.

I don't expect him to make it to us, but I would claim him if he does.

He has struggled to put up production in Edmonton, but he is only 24, was a 0.9 PPG player in the AHL, and has some really nice upside. I would not mind trying him on our 4th line as a rotation piece with Simmonds and it would allow Robertson to get some consistent playing time on the Marlies again. Worst case, we can just go back to using Robertson or we make a forward trade.

3 games or 6 days, but you often get a 2 game extension if you ask for it.

At this point we are talking about another month doing what he is currently doing, and then another week and a half on the Marlies before he is on the Leafs for our playoff run.

Yea after hearing Dubas' comments it's looking more & more like Muzzin isn't playing Leafs games until playoffs. Also makes sense considering how they've handled their cap accrual of late.

This should really open things up for them cap wise.

Why so against Konecny?
Well, maybe I should rephrase. He’s a good player and plays bigger than his size, but he’s still small. I would want someone with bite AND is big. I’m sure we could get Konecny with a lesser offering.

Shit, going to be annoying for AM playing against this guy again in the playoffs.

Jarnkrok would have been interesting but I don’t know if he’s an upgrade to what they currently have.

Not upset about Chariot
