Seravalli thinks its possible Bertuzzi is moved by Monday. 48 points in 50 games. Signed through next season.

Now sure what the cross border rules are at the moment but I imagine the vaccination status takes the Leafs out.

Reports are he has been trending down for 2 years now. I’m not going to pretend I watch close enough to have an opinion and he has apparently been babysitting rookies.

But the idea that lindholms stats for the last 2 years have dropped isn’t new
He's the same player he's always been. Was one of the few guys who was giving loads of trouble to Chicago's forwards in the playoffs before everybody's favorite Freddy Andersen started letting everything in.
This guy would be magnificent to have against the offensive threats in our division.

Anaheim also become a pretty bad team over that time

For what it's worth, the Leafs have had interest in Bertuzzi for awhile, but that was all before COVID really started making things... weird.

I would say that interest is very much gone.

whoa wait a sec with all the attention he was getting i was just assuming that Giroux was having a big bounceback year or something.

but i just noticed he's just the same ~60pt type player he's been the last few years.

and he's not exactly a playoffs performer.

go ahead and blow your brains out, FLA.

This is just me but if Dermott does get traded and it isn't a one for one player type of deal... I wonder if he goes to Dallas.

They dropped Sekera on waivers and seems they're looking for a d man. They've been scouting the Leafs a lot too. Leafs maybe get a pick back from them to use in another trade.

Sure. But
“Gibsons numbers aren’t great because they are a bad team”
“Manson doesn’t look as good because they are a bad team”
“rakell is playing on a bad team”

Shatty won the cup. Getz is playing great. Everyone is high on lundestrom and drysdale and deslauriers and zebras”.

Stolarz numbers have been amazing

So if they have a top goalie. Great vet d and a bunch of young stars. Why are they a bad team?
It’s not the backup or the 4th Liners.

They can’t all be good and be a bad team

That must be main board stupidity. I'm pretty confident Lindholm is far above Montour.

oh he is.

it's just that Ducks dmen have consistently been assumed to be awesome despite not having the actual on ice success.

I like(d) Hampus, but i wouldn't be surprised if he's just ok now.

This is what I think we end up with on the blue line:

Rielly - Lyubshkin
Giordano - Brodie
Muzzin - Holl

Sandin and Liljegren will start the playoffs on the sidelines, which is probably the right call.

Sandin-Liljegren has been probably the best bottom defense pair in hockey this year.

would be so leafy to sit them out for grunts.

They have been terrific, but as we all know, the playoffs are a different animal and I'm not sure they're ready for it yet.

I've been high on this guy since his draft year so I'm ready for that adventure if we do indeed get him. Might not be everyone's cup of tea I know. I think our cup chances are extremely high if we make this deal and I also think Dubas is not foolish enough to not have some sort of plan if he does make the trade. Every year I hear about how we can't make things work cap wise and at the end of the day, somehow it didn't turn out to be an issue.

Edit: As for the Nylander part no, if I have the hindsight to see it will cost us Nylander, I veto the Lindholm trade.
If Anaheim wants Nylander, I'd be asking for more than just Lindholm with an extension. Rakell, Lindholm and Gibson for a start.

Our young D made grave mistakes which literally costed us games against Montreal last year.
