Get Giordano for the rest of the season. Simplest and cheapest move.

If Chychrun plays at his current level, he's no help. Unless the price is very low because of his 11 points and -28 in 39 games, I pass.

I am assuming Chychrun plays much better here and he'd be playing with his partner from Zona. Also gives you a top 4 for the future.

Agree that Giordano might be a decent short term solution.

Im ok with Dubas. He has made moves and corrected any mistakes. Some good gambles. The apathy and inconsistencies of the players are my concern......not entirely predictable other than Ritchie. Id be ok with a new Coach to see if that can do anything before booting Dubas.

Chychrun will most likely be much better here - agreed. Would I like him? Definitely.

But the main issue is he's not a shutdown guy, nor is Rielly, nor is Dermott, nor is Sandin. So for this season there is no one you can comfortably throw out in playoff pressure situations even assuming Muzzin comes back - Muzzin will be even slower and out of game shape.

Giordano has played that role well in the past. The Leafs need someone to replace that Muzzin role. That's not Chychrun's style. He's more like Rielly than Muzzin.

Keefe will go and we'll get another season of Dubas. Shanahan is Teflon, he is going no where unless it's of his choosing.

I think youve got to give it another honest effort before u consider blowing it up. But I certainly understand the question. I def dont have confidence.

Lube will make our D play tougher.....that sounds so so wrong
Gio/Lind/Chyc will improve the D to help our struggling netminders
2nd line LW shifts Kerfoot down and makes bottom 6 better
Goalie will inspire more confidence

If it doesnt work start the massacre

That to me doesn't sound like a team that's ready to compete for a Stanley Cup. Truth is, Dubas has handcuffed this team completely and it's nearly impossible for us to upgrade these positions of need without moving someone in the core 4. Matthews and Marner aren't going anywhere, we're stuck with Tavares for the remainder of his contract, which leaves Nylander as the only player in the core 4 who can be moved for upgrades.

,I fully support the Domi idea. But.....just for a rental. He fits that pesky LW need quite well. I wouldn't doubt that he would regain his offensive form with Nylander and JT.

To those who think he may be a lockerroom distraction, let me ask you this.........is that a bad thing? LOL I don't think our lockerroom is anything to write home about given our history of blowing big games. Maybe having a mouthy d-bag in the room helps. Plus, he knows Mitch quite well from the London Knights days. Maybe he is not afraid to tell him off come playoff time, if need be.

I think there's a lot of panic going on now. It's incredibly rare that a team makes a million roster changes in-season, especially a team pacing for well over 100 points. I understand the frustration of last couple games but it's a little much.

With all that said, Domi is a fine player. The problem is that he makes way too much money and we don't have any. We're not trading good players just to make room for a bigger question mark. That's not how you get better... right? This off-season, sure, let's explore that but right now... I don't know how you can justify that at all.

What we need is someone that can skate, defend, and put fear into opposing forwards.

The team will be fine in the regular season. I'm very nervous about our D-corp against Tampa or Florida round 1 with Muzzin either not playing or unreliable. We're a coin flip to win with him in playing at a reasonable level of play.

Our second pairing is going to have log significant minutes against great players. Hopefully Lyubushkin plays well and fits well with someone

He's actually pretty good defensively. I know the numbers don't look good but he is good.

Normally, I would agree with this, but an opportunity to grab a player like this, at that cap hit, is not common. As mentioned, he's pretty good defensively too. He's also barely older than Sandin and Lily and has played on an awful team. I would gamble on him every time.

yes, the window is closing. If not now, when will it be? This team is cup or bust, they need to do everything to try and win. Maybe don't waste on rentals, but get players with term so you extend the window a small bit. I think a defenseman with term has to be main priority and then a forward who can play left wing.

I suggested this when Chychrun was made available. I wasn't sure how to move Muzzin out but hey...problem solved?

I think Florida is the best possible outcome for us. We can play against them in a fast paced offensive style. Probably the series we are most suited to win. I think if we play Boston or Tampa we are in a bit of trouble. But I think the leafs have to look at Florida, New York or Washington (if they miraculously win the division) as best case scenario's.
