Good points made by Siegel. Basically the Leafs need to figure out if they can find a forward for the 2nd line, or a combination that works through the lineup.
Tavares and Nylander need to be better for sure but Keefe and Dubas need to find ways to improve it. Kerfoot did well for awhile but seems like it's not working right now. They can't go cold in scoring going into the playoffs again and right now, the Leafs are showing similar scoring issues outside of the top line. You can't be a one line team. This is why players like Kase, Robertson, etc might get stints and bigger opportunities. Siegel puts it at 60/40 toward the Leafs acquiring a defenseman versus a forward but seems like it could go either way.
The arguments of acquiring a forward or a defenseman with deadline approaching should be fascinating.
