Cholowski was claimed on waivers. He is not in the minors. We would have to keep him in the NHL full time.

Also, he sucks. I would rather use guys we have on the Marlies over him.

Jarnkrok is decent, but he is a rental, and one who is not really going to upgrade our top 9. Sure, he'd upgrade our 4th line, but is that worth the price?

Capfriendly has him in the AHL, must be a bug!
Jaronkrok IMO is better all around than a couple of our bottom 6 folks.
I'd put him as 3C, bump Kamf to 4c.

Mikheyev - Jarnkrok - Kase
Engval - Kampf - Simmonds

Again IMO that's an immensely better bottom 6.
He adds C depth, he can play in the top 6 if there is an injury and not look too too out of place.

He is not a center. Not anymore. He was maybe 5 years ago, but now he mostly just fills in for draws on occasion and maybe takes special teams draws.

Does anyone have a take on Mackenzie Blackwood? His stats aren't pretty, but the defense he plays behind is pretty awful. This isn't a trade to keep him type of suggestion, but I'm wondering if he could be flipped towards getting MAF. One could suggest just offering up Mrazek, but I'd think at 3.8M/ and Chicago having their own cap issues, Blackwood might be a more attractive consideration. That is, if he's any good and is being hurt by the team in front of him.

Edit: sorry, just realized he's out for the season with a heel injury.

If we're adding a goalie I'd try to go cheaper (acquisition cost) and add a better third option between Kallgren and Mrazek/Campbell with Hutch going the otjer way as well.

Stolarz and Forsberg are guys I like but won't pass through waivers at this point but Charlie Lindgren and Collin Delia are two guys who can play well at the NHL level provided they have an average defense in front of them. Andrew Hammond is another but he's older than the other two.

Not a huge fan of Blackwood.

It's not even that prices are high. We would have to pay a high price for what is likely a lateral move.

People think Miller, Manson, Mayfield, Severson, Larsson, Chiarot, etc. are upgrades on Holl. I really do not think they are, and people can't even really use Muzzin carrying Holl this year as an excuse because Holl has arguably outperformed him in the same role.

All for the above are better than holl.

Why do the Leafs care about beating down an underperforming rookie on one of the worst NHL teams in history?

Seems like we should be setting our sights higher than that.

I meant to say Leafs should have been beating down on Caulfield the entire series****

They tried to indimidate Matthews, Leafs should have made Caulfields game hell that series but instead were soft as hell.
