He wanted to be a Leaf for life.

I’ve talked myself into believing that we need Kessel to lift the first round curse. It makes no sense, but that’s what I’m going with!!

Just as I predicted. Ritchie to the Coyotes. I've suggested a bunch of different players over the last couple months, Lyub included. He's a big body defenseman rental that would be an interesting option for the Leafs.

I'm going to predict Ritchie and a pick for Lyub. Could add Dermott to this deal and make it spicy with other assets.

I would imagine they would have some interest in Dermott too, especially if we get Lyubushkin back.

I guess it is no different than getting Braun. Lyubushkin can be a #7 who can maybe step in for Liljegren, but I would want more than just Lyubushkin if they are getting Dermott + Ritchie in the deal. They have a bunch of picks this year (5 2nd round picks) so maybe we could get a pick for 2022.

Another guy to look out for is Johan Larsson. Could be a nice addition to our 4th line, and since he is injured, we can throw him on LTIR (similar to Nash) and bring him in for the playoffs.

That is the deal I see happening.

Dermott is the most valuable piece in the deal, and Ritchie is the least valuable.

Larsson doesn't have much value on the open market given he is out for 8 weeks... But that is perfect for us though.

Larsson hasn't played since like Jan 15th but he had 15 points in 29 games up to the point (which is his best pace ever I think). If he's injured for awhile, I could see this making sense.

He's a good defenseman. Big, strong, and physical while playing hard minutes on a garbage team.
