depending on price I think he'd be worth exploring ...that whole team is a mess

Heard Chariot is on IR (maybe LTIR??).

Rielly Smith is interesting as rumour has it Eich may be coming back in a week or so in which case they need to shed salary. The other forwards are sweet but they won't come cheap, especially if you need teams to retain.

Lindholm will cost big time and will walk because we can't afford him. The path to the SC is going to be difficult. I would tread carefully at going big because we cannot afford a repeat of last year.

Toronto is a team with a good depht and close to salary cap. It not because it didn't work with toronto than he cant do something good elsewhere.

Rakell and copp if pavelski giroux and hertl are available, not sure their price will be high. Retain is close of a necessity from every team. They are not a lot of buyer with cap space so most of seller will need to retain if they want to trade their player or they will maybe just have no choice to keep them if they dont want to...

Well, Petry and Weber were RD. So that means he's 3rd pairing or LD. And he's useless. A downgrade from Holl.

He's a left shot defenseman, zero effort to find that info yourself.

He's periodically played RD but absolute garbage at it.
 
If the leafs are going to spend assets on a defenseman to play right I want it to be a defenseman who plays the right side.

I don’t want to spend assets on a LHD to put on the right side because they’ve played there before.

If it's between not getting a top-4 D, and getting a top-4 D that usually plays the left side, I opt for the getting the top-4 D over leaving it.

3rd pairing role? Okay sure I guess but we're loaded there currently.

Weber was a hell of a defenseman.

I trust Dubas to not be in on Chariot, but if Dubas has any kind of intention to go after him, hopefully the Flames get him before that.
Chariot isn't worth anywhere close to a first, but some team will pay it. Both players together will be costly. Interesting some Flames fans think Monahan could go the other way in the Toffoli deal.

I would rather have Robertson.

Nothing against Faber, but I would take Niemela over him, and Villeneuve is a solid prospect behind him. I think more than anything, we just need bodies. We have done well stocking up on wingers, both in the draft and UFA, but we need more guys at the other positions. Center and goalie especially could use a high end guy or 2 who can be ready in 3 or 4 years.
 
I think a team like philly or another potential seller who has contract limitations. Something like brassard seeler frost/rubstov and a throwaway that expires this summer like Sandin (their sandin, not Rasmus)
For Ritchie Dermott and a future 3rd.
Clears up two spots for philly who’s going to be selling so therefore by nature will probably take more contracts back than they send out.
Brassard and seeler are veteran depth that can both be buried frost/rubstov are dice rolls.
 
I like the fact that it's taking place before the TDL and wonder how it will affect how teams move in the near term, as opposed to waiting for the last moment.
