Anthony Stewart continues to have no analysis about the Leafs other then his intense jealousy of the dollars they make.
Like, literally anyone could come up with that analysis. Not to mention hes completely wrong about his analysis that the depth cant score.
I might be biased because I played with and against him in minor hockey, but I think he's done a fantastic job on TV this early in his media career. I can't tell you how many players I've seen in sports be tried in an analyst job on TV and they've been so bad you start to feel sorry for them (Mo Peterson and Gronk come immediately to mind). Anthony already appears to have as much confidence, charisma, and the 'it factor' to be successful as guys with decades under their belt (Friedman, Hrudey, etc.) which is quite impressive to me. Furthermore, he knows what he's talking about, relatively speaking, from my vantage point. Sure, he might reflect a little too often to his own playing days and try to be funny at times, but I think a little humour is really needed on these 'no personality' panels, and he's so new to this gig that obviously I would expect him to get much better with time.
I agree that he has the persona, voice, etc for TV, but his only discussion point for the Leafs is the dollars that the big 4 make. He cant have any conversation about them without starting or ending at that point. Its very tiresome, not at all original thought, and quite frankly irrelevant to the discussion at times.
I find all media is pretty crappy these daysStewarts analysis sucks.
Never heard something with a hint of good logic behind it come from him. Just shitty hot take after shitty hot take.
Definition of "he played in the nhl, hire him!" type of hire.

I've watched most of his on-air time this season (tonight, Sat night, and Wed opener) and haven't heard him reference that (the money the big 4 make) much at all, so I'm not sure what you're referring to really. Was this pre-game tonight? Clearly I'm missing something because again I've seen him for nearly every TV appearance this year and it's all been about solid analysis - Simmonds presence, the insane talent of today's youngsters (after Senator's rookie goal), etc. Maybe you're referring to radio? Is it possible you're extrapolating a few times into all he talks about?
Also, I'm sure you know he's a Scarborough kid, so if anything he'd probably have a Leaf's bias I'd think, especially back living here post-career.
I’m so glad I’ve stopped listening/watching this trash. (MSM Sports talk in general) Reading the synopsis’ here is enough for me.Man Jeff can't take one criticism of any of his opinions especially Nylander. He was cherry picking some instances to criticize, and Siegel said don't you think you're too hard on him sometimes? Jeff said no. Siegel responded by saying that he agrees with what he is saying, however as soon as he said the word "but", Jeff completely lost it and accused Siegel of being Nylander's dad and how he is always defending him. Siegel just laughed it off and I applaud Siegel for never raging when it would be easy to with responses like Jeff usually does. Jeff then accuses people who defend Willy of being his uncle. Jeff uses such childess antics on a consistent basis.
Hayes was the voice of reason that yes he could be better in certain situations, but says the issue why people defend him is because it's always his name that comes up of people we should trade for cap reasons or whatever. He also says we always pick out situations he could be better in, but never focus on the things he does well. He says Nylander is elite at back pressure but thats never brought up.
Who? I know a lot point out his shortcomings. They’re quite obvious, we all see them and they comment about it. Not sure if any hate him.The media hates Nylander and I'll never understand why. Like, more than even Gardiner and Kadri, both of whom had their own issues with the media desperately wanting them to be traded. It's like they've all collectively got this grudge against him that they refuse to let go of or move on from. Bloody bizarre is what it is.

ODog played a 5th wheel shooter role on every team he played on ... bloody hard to score so every team needed one back in da day ... but he is nowhere near da player of Willy ... Willy is still a kid and when he fully matures i have good feelings and hope he will be a dominant player ... but he still takes too many nights off and he nose dives in playoffs ... but i expect him to be a force this upcoming playoffs ... time will tell but I think soMan Jeff can't take one criticism of any of his opinions especially Nylander. Tim and Sid done in February
Tim and Sid done in February
Thats surprising but I guess this was the rumored big change. Sid really got on my nerves but seems like a nice guy. Good luck to him.Just Sid.
Now it'll be Tim & Random.
Not gonna miss Sid's takes on all things Leafs tbh. Wish him the best though. He's alright in small doses.
Sid's best moment was when the Canadian Women's Hockey team won Gold in the 2014 Olympics.Just Sid.
