People.on here knocked Muzzin when he is a warrior. He also works well with Holl in a shutdown role. Never underestimate what such players bring.

I just saw Leafs were in on the Bear trade. I saw him enough in Edmonton to believe that Leafs dodged a bullet by not anteing up a draft pick, he is not an upgrade IMO.

I think Liljegren is being given 2 or 3 games in the AHL to find his timing and stuff and then Gio - Lilly will be our shutdown pair.

Muzzin should never have been relied on as part of the plan if they had an accurate medical read on him. The guy was unable to participate in workouts on the first day of camp and that wasn't even what knocked him out. So unless they just didn't have a clue medically (not impossible), he should have been a guy to throw on LTIR way earlier and spend the money in free agency.

A lot of poor decisions with the puck in that period. It's like they are brain-dead since the season started.

I agree. The Muzzin thing is bizarre. I find it hard to believe they didn't know he was a light hit away from being done.
