McKeens had him ranked 53rd. Short stocky player with a great shot and skill around the net. 3rd in scoring on an average Saskatoon team.

Tiny player for today's game. Dubas legacy pick for after dubas gets fired eventually it has to happen.

I wish the kid all the luck in the world cole caufield made the show and can score so maybe Brandon will too.

He got a 3rd round talent in the 7th round. Sure as heck will take that over a 3rd round talent in the early 2nd... especially when he is not even that big or physical.

Or a random Russian in the 5th who is also not that big or physical.

Meanwhile hunter was taking 7th round talents in the 2nd. In all serious though... Dubas has tiny shoes to fill in regards to drafting.

Today's game is getting smaller
 
Considering how other teams took kids playing in high school and overagers who did not perform, this pick is like an A+ to me. I look forward to wtpatching this guy play.

Is there this same type of chart but instead ranking and putting into words the value of our 2nd round pick? I'd like to see the comparison between grabbing these dude at 7 as a steal and how badly we messed up based on everyone else saying the guy we took 2nd round was ranked like 4th or 5th, thanks if there is, no worries if theres not, just curious.

You usually start doing that by reading thoughts and opinions of people more well informed than yourself on the matter, I was just asking a question about a similar chart, no need to be a C you next Tuesday.

Minten was better than a 4th or 5th round prospect. He was a guy who would have been solid value at 79.

At 38? There is just not enough upside there and he is far from a polished prospect to make up for it. He is your run-of-the-mill middle-3rd round guy that you can consistently find in every draft... and this draft had a bunch of them. Except most of those guys were taken in the 3rd... Where they should have been taken.

Lisowsky, meanwhile, is a typical boom-bust pick that is somewhat the alternative to the Minten-types you find in the 3rd round. He has great upside, but he is less likely to fill a bottom 6 role. Dumais and Lucius were other guys like that available in this draft (although Lisowsky is more of a sniper than those two). Getting a guy like this in the 7th round is excellent value.

Pretty sure it was posted in the Minten thread. Most rankings had him in the 3rd round
