FIFA announced the procedures for the 2022 World Cup draw on Tuesday, with Canada still having an opportunity to move up in the men’s world rankings and improve its placement before the event takes place in Doha on April 1. Matthew Scianitti has more.

We're hoping to hit pot 3, which would require that at least 5 lower ranked teams make it. Right now, Saudi Arabia and Australia are both below us (and 1 will likely qualify directly), Ecuador is currently third in Conmebol (and are below us), and 3 of the African playoffs involve teams that are currently lower than Canada (note: some are close enough that meaningless losses could be the difference between 3rd or 4th pool)
 
Yup with the UEFA playoff team in Pot 4 seven points from this window should get them in Pot 3. They even have an outside shot if they lose Thursday and Costa Rica can pass the US (which is both possible and hilarious).

Saudi Arabia qualified directly last night (meaning that Australia is battling for intercontinental qualification). Conmebol resumes today, CAF (Africa) runs tomorrow-Tuesday.
 
Tonight could be the night we finally clinch! Never mind all the possible scenarios if we lose or draw, just win and get it done.
 
Every WC there is always a major world power that gets upset in qualifying and misses it. It just a matter of who. This year (and 2018 lol) it is Italy.

Not that big of a deal to be honest.

This North Macedonia team actually has some solid talent. Elmas is a legit prospect, Bardhi is a very technically gifted player. They beat Germany earlier in qualifying to get into these playoffs, making Italy their second giant slain.

Obviously still a massive upset, but Italy was never a sure thing in this game.

Assuming Canada doesn't totally collapse and qualifies, I wonder if all the Azzurri fans in Woodbridge and Little Italy will switch allegiances to the red and white.
 
The ball was there and he kinda went at the ball... I think yellow is ok.. red would have been extreme really
