I'd do it. I'd even do a pick instead of Hartman. We'd have a few too many centers, but it'd allow us to move Bozak I guess, or put Smith on the wing (or out of the lineup altogether).

Should throw in Leivo from the Leafs at the very least...still don't think Chicago bites. Kruger is important to Chicago.

Why move the second best faceoff guy on the team to the wing

As a leafs fan I would probably pass. I like Markus Kruger a lot but not at 3 yrs. Ryan Hartman is also not that tempting enough to take for that Kruger contract. Good offer but I don't think the Hawks would do this deal right now either as they would probably rather have Kruger for a playoff run and then trade him at the draft as those peices in return are not of much use for them.

easy pass for the leafs. they would need more than hartman to take on 3.1x3 years pf Kruger. good luck trying to shed that to sign panarin

Is this meant to be a near pure cap dump for Chicago to lose Krugers contract?

seems like it. Hartman hasnt really showb the ability to be anything more than a bottom 6 winger, which the leafs have in abundance, so i doubt they do the hawks any favors here. and i doubt holland or corrado have much value either

We'll keep Kruger and his slightly-overpriced contract, thank you very much.

Keep your crap.

What is the plan to sign Panarin then?

He'd look pretty good on Matthews wing

Panarin - Matthews - Nylander
Riemsdyk - Bozak - Marner

As you said, Holland and Corrado do not provide much value/interest.

That is a problem for the offseason. If LV does not solve the problem for us, then we will look to trade Kruger, not before. The Hawks are already a little thin up front this season and you are removing 2 of the Hawks top 9 in this deal with out any valid replacements returning (Holland is a 4th liner and I'm not sure Q would put up with his defense anyway). For better or worse this year's Hawks team is built on defense and Kruger is a big part of that. They are simply not going to deal him this season.

Leaf fans keep putting Holland's name out there. When will they realize that people know that his value is zilch?
