This is highly unlikely because Buffalo is probably still furious they lost out on Babcock, and are terrified that Vesey will sign in Toronto as well.

But here goes:

Evander Kane $5.25 Cap hit, $6 million cash next two years

for

Joffery Lupul $5.25 Cap Hit, $5.25 million this year, $3.75 next year
Jared Cowen $3.1 Cap hit, $4.5 million cash this year

Leafs obviously get the better player, who has lots of baggage. That being said I feel Babcock is the exact coach to make him smarten up and return to form of what he could be.

Buffalo takes on a higher cap hit and salary for this year, but save $2.25 million next year. Lupul when healthy is a 20 goal scorer (which is what Kane has been the last few years) and Cowen can be usefull when healthy.

This is so bad for Buffalo.

I'm a Leaf fan telling you this is god awful.

Come on man, you can't honestly think buffalo's best option to get rid of Kane is two take on two cap dumps. I sense a troll job here.

Seriously? So not only do the Sabres take on the far inferior player with the same cap hit as Kane over the next two years, but they also eat Cowen's contract? Laughable.

For all the headaches Kane has caused with his off-ice issues, he's still a talented player. A contender will take a chance on him at the deadline for a low 1st or so to add more scoring.

You can't say the same for Cowen or Lupul. Those players have no value whatsoever.

This is terrible for Buffalo, but I don't want Kane anywhere near a city that actually had a nightlife.

Brutal for Buffalo.

My favorite part of the thread was Buffalo being "terrified" that the Leafs would sign Vesey.
