Murray, Samsonov, Georgiev, Francouz, Andersen, Raanta, Fleury, Gustavsson are goalies signed/traded for in the last couple years by 4 of the top 5 teams last year.

Who will be the best goalie over the next few years? Who will be the best goalie to win in the playoffs the next few years? You are right, I don't know. Do you?
I’m not employed by MLSE to run their hockey ops but people who are should ? So far said employees haven’t figured it out & not sure they ever will.

history & track record, same rationale they used to acquire Matt Murray
If you're going to bitch about the Murray signing because of "history&track record", then it's clear you'd be bitching about whoever we signed. But I suppose that since every post of yours I've seen over the last few months is bitching and moaning about the Leafs, I shouldn't be surprised.

I will keep saying it but Comrie and Samsonov would have been a better tandem. Comrie was really good in the few starts he had. Winnipeg was far from a good team.
Murray was Buffalo's preferred choice over Comrie as well.

We know leafs, Buffalo and apparently a 3rd team wanted Murray. I think i recall Dubas was trying to land Murray from Pittsburgh....

Seems Dubas got the player he wanted and didn't just get a goalie that with short term on a reasonable contract. He even got a 3rd and a 7th.

Who would trade for a Goalie with stats like this and put your hopes on him recovering? When has that ever worked out for a team?

Oh sorry posted the wrong stats for Murray

The previous post was Ed Belfour when we signed the washed up Bum who posted a .922 and .918 follow up seasons.

Did you notice also the Ottawa's other Goalie Forsberg was better than Murray in every category, playing in front on the same team?

Did you also notice that Forsberg #'s in Ottawa with a poor defense where > = Campbell's #'s in front of a much better defense and team?

People kept excusing Murray's poor play due to his team but then why did Forsberg's number so much better and with double the sample size to boot?

Maybe the Leafs acquired the wrong Sens goalie and Forsberg at $2.75 mil the much better gamble for the Leafs., leaving extra cap space to work with.

Always looking for reasons to be miserable. :(

Did you notice how I literally posted Forsberg's numbers there for you to compare?

How did you think i wouldn't notice the numbers i looked up and posted for you?

Do you think getting #70A for #16OA might of had anything to do with it, plus the fact that they have no aspirations of winning the cup ??

Murray's situation in Ott is really crazy, they misdiagnosed a shoulder injury and he might not have trusted the staff there and then they fired the goalie coach? maybe some stabilty and asurance will help him find his game. Don't like the cap hit but don't mind the potential in him with his playoff experience. Hopefully Sanford can get him up to speed! I'm actually more optimistic with these two guys than the last two ;)

I wonder how much the way we play our PP impacts the save % we're definitely high risk high reward.

If I'm an oilers fan I'm pretty happy with those splits

Which is the same rational the same top 4 teams used in the last calendar. They approach it similarly.

The Avs traded a big package in order to acquire a goalie, who won them the cup, and then they let him walk in order to get a cheaper goalie. It always felt like their plan.

The Leafs on the other hand, have never had stability or a process in goal since the Shanaplan began.

They don't approach it similarly.

This is just untrue. Say what you will about his playoff un-clutchness, but there were 3 solid seasons of knowing Freddy was the guy in net.

As for a process, yeah it only feels like now they’re starting to put in actual effort at the position.

Look up high danger scoring chances

Campbell cannot scramble and is exposed in tight with quick plays and rebounds it seems

It could be a true disaster in edmonton based on their blueline and unless they change something around the net it is a wait and see

Apparently the team doctor cause an injury that caused him to be unable to close his glove hand!
I'm pretty sure he's happy to gtfo of there

And what did the Avs do this offseason to address their goalies, nothing special, same as the Leafs.

Is this speculation? Or something that was confirmed?

Goal tending is definitely and afterthought with Shanny/Dubas
