what are these future considerations that dubas promised sens? any news on that yet? just wondering how much worst this is going to get

Solid plan. I just have one question? Which goalie got us to the playoffs?
We resign Campbell at his ask of 5x5 or whatever. He plays the season with Kallgren and Woll backing up. Murray does a rehab in the AHL for a bit and tandem of Campbell and Murray for the playoffs with salary cap circumvention.

This team has zero accountability and it starts from the top. The pres, the gm, the coach and our captain just get praised despite accomplishing a whole lot of nothing.
don't forget the GM of the Marlies who got promoted for missing the playoffs , lol

you really can't make this shit up

Probably a whole lot of nothing. Obviously we don't know yet, that's why it's future considerations lol.

probably the stanley cupi if we win. So dw, the sens will never get anything back. Brilliant move by Kyle. What a shrewd tactic!

So after thinking about this for 45 minutes, the only positive I can think of if this gamble doesn't work out is Murray is such a bandaid he probably already owns property on Robidas Island. You could disappear his money on LTIR.

He could get a concussion just from his first morning fart, which generally speaking is the longest and loudest one of the day.

Leafs were 18th overall in goals against last season so if Murray is the 18th best starting goalie that would be a match there, to remain status quo defensively. :wg:

The real concern is the injury history.. Injuries are one of the reasons behind his struggles, including a concussion that forced him to miss the final 25 games of the 2021-22 season. He’s expected to resume skating next week, according to a report by Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun.

Last 25 games on regular season, + all the playoffs and now just hoping to get back on the ice in mid July to start skating for the first time, and we don't even know how that will turn out.. That is one serious concussion he is coming off of and this isn't even his first in his career. Last time he was on the ice was March 5th .

This is a pretty high risk move at a significant cap hit to have a lot of room for another solid NHL goalie as a backup plan in case of injury.

That's what concerning. It's not like he's coming back from a muscle pull
Knowing the type of injury and frequency, this is a very desperate move by a GM who is in love with his past team

Can Murray bounce back, yes....... For the love god I hope he does

It's insane how much the Toronto media will do mental gymnastics to act like Dubas is amazing.

That argument is truly bad faith. 1.5M goes a long way as we have proven quite a few times in the last couple of seasons.

f***, you want give up the 1.5M, at least get something better back?!

Not really though.

Some will, a lot won't. The Toronto media sucks.

Hard not to disagree now. kinda would like a new management to run whats next. if that means we have to tare down then we have to tare down. I feel like this move is a clear indication that Matthews last 2 years of his contract will be wasted.
still lots of time for moves but this feels like the wrong one.
I wanted to take a chance on Blackwood or something.
We don’t need to tear down. We need to restructure our salary cap allocation to bring better balance.

At least Dubas hasn't left any complete boat anchor immovable contracts for his successor.

The worst are Tavares, Muzzin, and Murray (lol!). Tavares being 2 years left and the others 1 year. There's an opportunity for a big retool with some intriguing prospects on the horizon, so it's not all doom and gloom.

Just seems like it will be a frustrating season upcoming, chasing their tail.

If this were a Steve Stavros Leafs team. Dubas would have been canned long ago and I think that's a very very safe bet. How many conference finals was it with him as owner? 5 I think. Anyways, gonna go have a drink. Total gut punch now that it's sunk in.

To all the people who said we had a plan, we just overpaid out of desperation. Wake up and get away from the Dubas shrine. We got a goalie sure, but a suspect one and a bigger hit on the books than anyone thought. What a time to be alive Leaf fans! Give me a D, gimme a U, give me a break.
Quit panicking, FA is still 2 days away.

Let's not forget goaltending isn't exactly what failed us last playoffs. There is a lot more at fault in terms of getting this entire team to be competitive with that killer instinct. A sieve replacing is one pretty good goaltender is a huge an issue, but when you look at the entire picture it's looking bleak.

I think you’re wrong on the media. Have you checked Twitter? Most of the pundits are criticizing the deal. I’ve never really seen this many Leafs media personalities openly criticize Dubas. Hell even SDPN is having an emergency podcast tomorrow
