Oh I don’t care about Marchment. Just don’t understand the 5’9” stockpile we have going on. Like how many of Petan, Malgin, Carcone do we need to constantly add to the organization? Like one day one will pan out? Why not just grab a draft pick or a warm body who can displace Martin Marincin?

I wonder if they think they can eventually flip Malgin for a pick? He at least appears to be an NHL player

Are we sure it really is Martin Marincin? I think it might be Chuck Norris.

Denis Malgin • #62 • W
Status:On roster
Ht/Wt: 5'9", 177 lbs.
Born: Jan 18, 1997 (23 yrs) in Olten, SUI
Experience : 3 years
Drafted: Drafted by Florida in 2015 (4/102).
Shoots: R

SCOUTING REPORT
Owns a wealth of skill and puck-handling ability. Is a creative offensive player with excellent playmaking acumen. Is also a very mobile and elusive forward. Needs to gain more strength so as to better handle National Hockey League defenders. Must also learn to shoot the puck with greater frequency.
Long Range Potential: Diminutive, slick offensive forward with upside.

Trading a guy who may never play for them for a younger player with 184 NHL games has to be a win. He has a one way contract so will cost more if demoted but he does seem like a guy they got fpr NHL depth rather than for some other reason. He is puny of course, but appears he hits a much as Matty, Mitch, and Willie combined. It would be funny if this was KD's big move though.

Traded away a guy who can't play on the 3rd line in a pinch, and brought in someone who might.

Fine by me. I expect neither guy will/would play much in the playoffs.

Apparently Dubas loves going to the drive-in. Therefore he has constructed a team that maximizes the value of going on car-load night.

Not sure why Bracco has such a hard time getting a shot.

They don’t care about size.
They don’t care about grit.
They don’t care about defense.
They don’t care about work ethic.

What does Bracco not do that they want him to do?

I actually really liked Malgin. There are times when he is the hardest skater on the ice, you can tell he is fighting out there for turnovers and he is great on the forecheck. Good skater, but he just does not fit on our team. So streaky and basically invisible for 95% of the time. But when he plays well he plays well.

And it seems like whenever he wants to play well it’s when none of the other players are making plays and he is the only one on the ice making an impact. If he actually played well when his teammates were giving him the puck and playing well around him he could be a solid 3rd line guy. It’s just not with the Panthers.

Consider him Shawn Matthias 2.0.

Why is Bracco not getting a call up? We literally have a right shot RW who can play in the minors.

So Dubas gave up what amounts to an AHL forward who besides being 6"4 didn't have the speed to compete at the NHL level and had a history of injuries. He acquired a skilled player who is 5"9 and leaf nation is going nuts cause he is small.

If Dubas by acquiring a depth player that can keep Timoshov or Gauthier out of the lineup that is a good thing. If this is the only move Dubas makes then yeah not good. If he ends up moving a Kerfoot and still has depth with Malgin then its a win.

Let's see what other moves are made and how Malgin is deployed

He'd have to clear waivers.

Maybe that is okay?
no loss if he gets picked up , doubt he does since most teams have there own smurfs kicking around their system but you never know

Marchment being in the system was basically just a favor by Shanny to his Dad and isn't an NHLer .
